Looks as if the Mavs are going to waive Finley's contract...don't know how much he would be worth on the FA market, certainly not the 16 million he was going to make this year.

He is still a veteran SG that will give you 13 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists a night in about 35 minutes.

For the right price I think he could be a great 6th man, but his numbers have been slowly declining and I don't see him ever being the Finley of old.

If he doesn't demand high dollar, then anything is possible. He could be an option if the Cavaliers fail to sign any of the top tier SG's.

Mabey we can get away with signing Sauranus and Finley, if the top 3 doesn't work out. :dunno:

He'd be a decent pickup. He's just been hampered by injury. Him alongside LeBron would be a fairly good combination. Having a good wing players opposite of each others would be a deadly combo. I'm sure that LeBron can bring back flashes of the old Finley if he came here. But not for much, oh no. 3 year deal, 5-6 mil per?

Even at this age, Finley still has the ability to take over games. We didn't have that reallly last year. Gooden had some games like that, but if Finley gets hot from beyond the arc, he could rack up 35 points in no time.

I think Finley will be going at around 8-9 million a year. Pretty high, but if all else fails, he isn't a horrible pickup. We will see.

i think FINLEY is about winning, and not the $$$$$

so in that case i think he would play for less dough to play for a winner--- i wouldn't be shocked if he went back to PHX where he started. he would fill q-rich's shoes nicley...

i just don't see wh he would come here to back up somebody ? and mike is a terrible defender- if we're gonna get one terrible defending SG- i want to make sure the name ALLEN or REDD is on the back of that cavaliers jersey...

i wouldn't mind trying to get MARQUIS daniels from then... i know he will be on the market-- although i'm not sure what kind of contract he has ?...

If we cant get JJ, Redd, or Allen, he is def one guy we have to look at.

But I doubt he will be brought in until those guys ore off the table

Finley's game has been declining over the last 2-3 years. He's nothing more then a jump shooter nowadays. If he came real cheap that is only reason we should pick him up

With the way our situation is looking like now, we may have to end up settling for him instead of one of the big time sg we've all been hoping for.

He can knock down jumpers. Do we have one of those?

he gives up a ton of uncontested jumpers "WE HAVE PLENTY OF THOSE"

I wouldn't mind Finley at all if none of the other top FA SG's can be signed and you can get Finley at a reasonable price. Finley is still a quality player and better than anything else the Cavs currently have on the perimeter other than LeBron. He wouldn't be a long term solution so the price would have to be right to allow the Cavs room to make other moves. I do agree with what was said earlier that if Finley is let go he'd be more likely to sign with a team that can contend next season.

I can't see Dallas letting Finley go though. I'd be very surprised if it happened. It wouldn't help their cap room at all. That new provision in the new CBA does allow teams to waive players with big contracts but the contracts still count on the cap. They just don't count towards the luxury tax.

Im a fin dog fan but it pains me to say he wouldnt fit here. If we got s stud 2 guard im not sure where he would find minutes and right now he is just too old and broken down to make our starting 2 guard. I love his shooting, his athletic ability and size but its much nicer on another team :D
