Michael Young on Moohead Radio Monday at 5

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Ok if you understand that then why do you get mad when he promotes his show on here?

Dunno. It's hard to answer why I do something that I don't *actually* do.

As far as I'm concerned Moo can spam about his show all he wants, especially if he's going to actually do something on topic and related tot he board like talk Cavs.

That doesn't mean I won't smack the reply button and tell him what I think of the state of his show.

Jon: We run some human interest/offbeat entertaining stories along with the sports. The sports is 80% of the show.

80%? You didn't even come close to that Monday when you spent the first quarter of the show talking to MYoung. Don't delude yourself, Moo.

It is our format. You don't like it. Others do. That's why you have STO or Rome or whomever.

Who? Jim Terry and his brother? The tele-text guy?

For instance, who from this board has called in to your show? Or have you even read an email from?

And yes, I can listen to STO or whatever I feel like. So what? What's your point? You like what your doing and you don't care what your former or potential listeners think?

Obviously I hit a nerve. I thought you were a radio professional in a former life?

You should know the drill, Moo.

It goes something like this:

"Dear Mr. JonFromVa,

Thank you for your concern for the show. We appreciate your input and are always looking for ways to improve our show.

Sincerely,

A Cow"

And then you just keep doing what you're doing.

But apparently you've taken this personal as-if noone has actually ever cared enough to let you know your show was going to pot, which makes me think there may actually be hope for you ... that is once you swallow your ego and realize your show has strayed. Once relegated to fridays, every day has become a blackhole in space edition.

You keep referring to Monday. Then you mention the Relay operator (tele text?) stuff. That happened months ago. You are NOT a regular listener, and from previous posts here, never liked the show before. You enjoy clashing with people on forums, and it almost got you bounced a while back.

There is no goat to get here. I understand that your opinion is that the show is not what you like it to be. I do not believe your opinion is universal, merely your own.

I offer everyone here an opportunity to come on the show. But realistically, only about 1 in 1000 listeners calls in to sports shows. People come and go. Some listen for a week, then disappear for a month. Others are "core" listeners who call all the time. Some of those (Jim Terry) are twits, but you learn to live with them.

But I will make you happy. Anyone who wants to actually watch the show and tell us how to improve...leave word for us here. The show runs all day on the Moohead site. We like criticism when it comes from people who take the time to be balanced and considerate.

I hope this pleases you, Jon. We will implement good suggestions, as we continue to work on our show.

BTW...STO and other major outlets all "busy" their phones until about 30 minutes or longer into each show. The reason? They can build up calls when they open the lines. The reason you get busy signals (I bet you don't even call anyway) is because the phones are shut down. Our lines remain open all the time, unless we are doing a one on one interview with Shapiro, Rutigliano or other sports figure.

My suggestion is simple. Spend more time actually talking Cavs/Browns/Indians. Why you feel the need to attack my character for asking you to stick to the original purpose you created the show is just weird, but I suppose it's typical of someone who feels somehow threatened.

And no, I've never called in to your show live or even emailed you live, because I've never listened to your show live. That's not what I do at 5pm. But you always archive your show which makes time and place shifting very convenient.

You seem to think my opinion is not representative of the cleveland sports fan who might choose to listen to your show. Well sir. That's trivial to explore. The device is called a poll.

So far the poll shows that a solid majority of the people familiar with the show like it how it is.

Apparently there's a method to your madness.

The method is that it is less sterile and more accessible than terrestrial radio. We're not better...we're just more "boutique accessible" to the average listener.
