Minor league game thread 7/25-7/30

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It hard to get excited for HR in that stadium, got to be one of the easiest in AAA….
Among the International League I would agree, but I suspect every PCL park is more of a launching pad.
So glad CLE got away from having any full season teams out there..

Ps. Columbus had its normal everyday crew out there... So no hints on who gets the call up other than Johnathan Rodriguez got the AAA call up...

High probability of OGonz or Rocchio with a very low chance of Schneeman... (Aka he becomes the last guy on the bench outside of Gallagher, but he's not on the 40 man).

Ok, some of my thoughts from attending the game at Lake County on Weds 7/26...

Damn it was hot... Moving to the top of section 111 in the 5th inning (once it was in the shade) was very necessary.

Steve Hajjar... had a bad day with his location. HP ump wasn't much help either (hey its the minors for the umps too) & Steve didn't complete the 1st. There were a few pitches that made you think... "if only he could develop some more, there might be something fun to watch in MLB one day".

Jake Fox... still needing some development but it was nice to see him turn on 1 for a homer to RF & make a great throw from the RF corner to gun out a player going for a double.

Milan Tolentino.. nice HR for the 1st LC hit in the game in the 4th.. Wasn't overly impressed.

Dayan Frias.. enjoyed watching him play. Might be a little more in there. Strong arm making throws from deep at 3B but still needs work.

Jorge Burgos.. just a guy vives. nothing really stood out.

Joe Lampe... rough game, seemed worse at the plate then it actually was...

Nate Furman.... a couple of flashes at the plate

Zac Fascia.. welcome to High A baseball kid.. Good luck. Moving all over the place trying to catch the various pitches. Had a couple poor non-catches with no one on late in the game (right-hand side, low). Definitely an area to work on.

Will Bartlett... Should go by the name Joshia & use the theme to the West Wing as his walk up music. The President is now in the batter's box.

Does Lake County still have the very loud, very obnoxious DJ that blathers on and on at every opportunity?
They have one but its not the same as the past few years. IIRC this guy used to be there a few years back & has returned.

I could do without him but I also understand how he is trying to keep the crowd going & into it.

Cleveland isn't the same without Adams, so there is some merit to it...

@MadThinker88

What did ya think of Rapp? He pitched in the game today and has had solid numbers since we got him...

Nothing to say...
All I have to offer was posted already...

Gotcha, he's a guy I really didn't know much about, but he's going to get AA in the bullpen in 24, so I was curious about him...

It's interesting to me that Brito has been playing a lot more 3B lately.

In A+ he played 4 games at 3B, 18 at 2B, and 10 at SS.
But now in AA he has played 19 at 3B, 23 at 2B, and 1 at SS.

He hadn't played 3B in MiLB since 2018.

With the young core of IFs probably being on average more of 2B than 3B (if not SS), Arias being the main exception, it would make sense that we would try to develop him there. And yeah I know Martinez and Tena are there which may have an influence but it seems like Brito is more of a higher value prospect at this point with Martinez lagging behind and Tena way behind him.

If we can trade Schneemann for any kind of lotto ticket and then bump up Brito to AAA by the trade deadline, I'd be happy. Guy isn't the youngest out there and he is showing he belongs.

I'd like to see him get some reps in LF too.

Jonathan Rodriguez smacks a double in his 1st at bat for the Clippers... With a searing run, he could suddenly find himself right in the mix.

I wonder if a team like the A's would offer something decent for him?

Prospect for prospect deals are pretty rare.. The A's parent club has some trade pieces.. As a throw in/extra Jonathan Rodriguez could become important.. but that's about where Jon-Rod is.. The A's IFA classes have been pretty good lately.. Several 18 - 20 year olds are worth looking at.. Example Carlos Pacheco.. or Cesar Gonzalez..
