Minor League Games - 2024

Let's see if we can all help, but the end of night, get some game recaps in here with like stats, etc since we don't have anyone doing series threads anymore!

Akron fully got some hits...

Halpin and Valdes keep hitting... Some other like DeLauter finally got in the action as well...Still numbers look bad overall as a team...

Webb got the start... Outside of the HR, didn't seem to be too bad..

Torres got another Save!

Denholm had a nice start for LC and the bullpen for the most part did their job as well..

Jonah Advincula has been the player of the week so far for the Captains... Last year's 8th round pick... Let's see how he looks at AA in due time since he is an older player for us at High A...

Hillcats had another game the pitching mostly let them down... Jackson Humphries... eh... Let's not talk about it...

Rorik Multrad an undrafted guy from Missouri actually gave them 4 solid innings! Don't know much about him other than at Missouri he had 12 Ks per 9 innings and 3ish BB per 9... Harlow, our 23, 19th round pick finished the 8th and 9th with scoreless frames...

@Tondo @petes999 you know anything about Rorik Multrad?

It's gonna be hard to keep him at Akron at this pace...

Ps. He technically hit the number of starts the organization likes at AA and above plus he is Rule 5 eligible in 25... He is eligible to finish the season with the big league club in a sense especially if injuries happen...

Larry Curly and Mo.. has nothing to do with the make up of a rotation in the bush leagues.. it has to do with the native ability of the individual pitcher being readied for time on the ML roster.. This guy won't live long enough for that to happen.. is not only implied.. it's likely... soo... "...doubtful.." and/or "..maybe not..." remains..

Cairo and Valdes have had the best looking PAs so far for Akron.

Watson is a bit of a free swinger, reminds me of Tena. Natural talent is evident, but just too reckless. Made a dumb out trying to steal 3rd base after a two out RBI double. Needs a lot of mental maturation.

Halpin's stats look good but not impressed with the overall quality/consistency of his PAs.

Naranjo was a bust pick. I did like the selection at the time, but he's not nearly the hitter they thought he is. Another reminder that HS picks are risky business.

Early looks of Lampe and Mooney have been pretty bad too. Lots of whiffing.
