Wow, "Ezequiel Carrera" is hitting .328 with a .819 OPS and 14 SBs in Columbus. Maybe HE should be up here instead of Austin Kearns.
Phelps isn't far behind, hitting .318 with a much higher .987 OPS, 7 doubles, 5 HRs, and 20 RBIs. And here we go again, maybe HE should be up here instead of Adam Everett. I can understand if they are leaving these players down because they don't want to start them (and have them sit on them bench with no playing time). Phelps can play from 1B to 3B and anywhere in between. If they are holding back for any other reasons, they need to let go of those.
BTW - Carrera is a lefty and Phelps is another switch.

What does our infield project to be in a year or two?
C: Carlos Santana, 1B: Matt LaPorta, 2B: Jason Kipnis/Cord Phelps, SS: Asdrubal Cabrera, 3B: Lonnie Chisenhall? I'm salivating.
LF: Ezequiel Carrera?, CF: Michael Brantley, RF: Choo, DH: Cord Phelps/Jason Kipnis?
K. Done. Sorry.
