MLB expansion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Relocate Tampa to Montreal, give Nashville and Portland expansion teams, and realign divisions.

Marlins won the 97 and 2003 World Series... Last year was the first time they lost a playoff series in franchise history and they aren't a weak team honestly. I don't think your personal hate of a team would have any effect on things from the MLB level lol
I don't disagree, only thing I'll add is that nobody in Florida (or anywhere else) gives a shit about the Marlins.

You aren't wrong there, but when a high profile baseball person like Jeter gets control of the Marlins, I doubt the franchise will be removed. It's very possible in due time they move (but that's not 100% likely since they have a fairly new stadium.

Indians actually have the lowest payroll in all of baseball this year, so I don't think we should exactly be throwing rocks from glass houses.

Rockies may be bad now for instance but they are $115 mil compared to our $50 mil.

We likely aren't adding much in 22 to the salary, but it's likely we don't need to with a lot of guys who are on tc/early arbitration years at the current moment. Guys like Bieber, Reyes etc you could see get extensions/extra years added.

Back on topic though, the league has enough talent adding teams isn't going to be that big of a problem. Question is will the CBA actually get passed since it feels like the owners and MLBPA are far apart on a lot of things, but with CBA being up, the expansion will be a big topic then

FWIW: Rays lease at Tropicana runs through 2027. A’s lease runs through 2025. Tribe lease ends in 2023.

An interesting tidbit about Las Vegas - it is the home to A's AAA franchise (the Las Vegas Aviators).

Don't forget about that non-hurdle (if Vegas was still home to a different organization's AAA club)..

The City of Oakland has totally botched everything in regards to Pro Teams. How embarrassing.

A tragically outdated facility. Hell, I remember it being routinely called "The Oakland Mausoleum" in the late 70's!
Mixed-use stadiums are charmless relics with zero nostalgic value. (Cleveland Municipal excepted, despite being the worst place for baseball ever I still love it.)

Oakland is a major shithole in America. Their stadium is literally a toilet.
Maybe the restroom toilets back up but you can walk up and get great upper deck seats for about $30. I did this for a Tribe game there in late April about five years ago. A quick check for an upcoming weekday game shows good seats for about $40.
