Monitoring Russell Westbrook’s Clippers tenure…

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It's really hard to find one. It's similar to the Drummond situation in that he's just making way too much money. Honestly think the only two chances they have to make a move might be like Westbrook for Lowry & Robinson or Westbrook for Porzingis & KCP. Both trades kind of suck, and the Lakers will just find themselves in the same spot next offseason trying to dump aging, overpaid vets.

I find it hard to believe either of those trades would be available. Both would improve the Lakers, by a lot. But I don’t think the Heat would want to hand the keys to an ECF team over to Westbrook, nor does he match their team emphasis on defense, and I don’t think the Wizards give up on Porzingis so quickly.

Westbrook is nothing but a cancer and a distraction at this stage. The only real solution is to tell him to stay home next season.

The Lakers know it but they won't do it.

He needs to go to China to fulfill his destiny and become the next Marbury.

Just gonna add whoever voted for this clown to make the nba top 75 should have his nuts removed

You almost had to vote for him because he has an MVP and is nine times all-NBA, despite no evidence that he could as the best player on a team (I.e without Durant) lead a team past the first round of the playoffs. He is a prime example of how stats alone can get you firmly ensconced in the upper rungs of NBA history

I get clowning Russ for his play the last 3 years, but over his career the guy has been excellent. He was such a good athlete that with decent vision and no other elite level skills he was an All-NBA guy for nearly a decade. And as much as people meme about the triple doubles, that 2017 season was a legit MVP year. He was one of the best players in the league that season and single handedly willed a team whose 2nd best player was Steven Adams to 47 wins and a first round exit. And, he was clutch af that year + his best shooting year. He deserves his top 75 spot more than some other guys (cough dave bing cough AD)

Has any team led by Westbrook as its best player gotten past the first round of the playoffs? That's not a great player, not really.

What is your take on TMac then? How about Nique?

Nique at least won some playoff series as the leader of his team. McGrady wasn’t in the NBA top 75.

The last two years he’s struggled but before that I would have taken Westbrook in the Cavs in a heartbeat. The man played hard every night, attacked the basket with ruthless aggression and was a triple double almost every night! That’s the kind of player I wish the Cavs could find at #14

Ha ha but Russ for Kyrie would be a MASSIVE win for the Lakers, don’t think there’s any way the Nets bail them out like that. I’m sure Durant wants no part of Westbrook LOL

It blows my mind how the Westbrook trade keeps revealing new levels of awfulness. If it’s not outright the worst trade in NBA history it’s really up there. Now the Lakers just blew all their open roster slots on mediocre vets who are far worse than the guys they gave away in the Westbrook trade, they lost their only good new player from last year (Monk) because Westbrook cost too much, and Westbrook is the highest paid player on their team despite being a net negative even if you didn’t have to pay him a dime. Plus he’s totally untradeable, Lakers are drowning and chained to a boat anchor. Phew.

Russ has also been on alot of teams with poor rotational depth. Some of those OKC teams had like 6 rotational NBA players and nothing after that.

Steady she goes, Russ. Sail that Lakers ship right over the edge of the Earth.
