Morway Wanted, but not GM!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

I will be a nervous wreck if we do end up waiting to June 30. Particulary too if Morway, Musselman and co, commit back with their current franchises. This summer has the potential of a major trainwreck.

I agree I was real optimistic going into the summer but several things have shaken my confidence. First, Phoenix has a real shot at being swept by SA virtually assuring that JJ will get any contract matched. Second, the freakin Bucks won the lottery significantly increasing the likelihood Redd will stay with the Bucks. Third, I have no idea where the organization if going with Z and more importantly what Z is thinking in terms of contract. Fourth, this Larry Brown fetish for GM when IMO their are more capable with the right mentality for the job really scares me about what Gilbert is thinking.

My confidence in this ownership team which I have not critized yet is starting to be shaken

I agree Pioneer and Karma. I'm concerned too right now about how things will play out this summer. The Cavs have to get it right. If they don't make a big move in free agency than this summer is a bust. Cap space like this is rarely available.

I think Johnson will probably stay in Phoenix too especially after his loss in the Spurs series has shown his importance to the Suns. Redd is still an option though. It helps that this year's draft doesn't have any dominant player to choose at the top (sorry Karma).

I'm not sold on Brown being in charge of the front office either. If Gilbert wants to go after someone to take control he'd be better off going after someone like R.C. Buford, Spurs GM. Unfortunately, I doubt Gilbert even knows who that is. A Larry Brown hire might make bigger headlines but it's not likely to be in the best long term interest of the franchise.
