Myles Garrett : NFL 2023 DPOY

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Myles will play next year like an asteroid is coming for him.

You should see some lung x-rays of people who have had COVID and recovered...in some cases it’s worse than heavy smokers.

It’s scary stuff and why recovery can be a long process to get lung capacity back to what it was previously. The positive thing here is Myles has world-class medical staff that will ensure he has the best chance to get his lungs back in tip-top shape.

That is my one fear here. Is that it will impact him long term. Hopefully that is not the case but it is certainly concerning it has lingered this long.

Two years ago it was the swing heard round the world and last year it was the COVID that kept Garrett from getting his hands on Defensive Player of the Year.

This coming year the only thing stopping Jurassic Myles is a god damn meteorite.

**Double points awarded for working out to Fleetwood Mac.

He was the first hit in a huge run of whiffs. You could argue he is the 2nd most important first round pick for us in the last twenty years. Goes to show how terrible our front office situation was for so long.

It's honestly kind of impressive how the Browns managed to be so incompetent and bad for so long in a sport where teams regularly go from trash to playoffs.

I'd argue it's more difficult to do what the Browns did for nearly twenty years than to turn a team around.

I like the look the trainer gives he looks at the camera like "Did you fucking see that?"....lol

There is a partial explanation for this. Sam Bradford got $50mil of guaranteed money in his rookie contract. After that draft rookies were subject to a salary cap.

The pre-salary cap era meant that high draft picks were poor value propositions on average. A couple of professors published a study which concluded that the best value picks were late 1st - early 2nd. Then it was observed that the Patriots were focusing on picks in this range (plus they were getting their own picks in this area).

From the 2011 draft on the value has changed and now high picks are much better value props, especially at QB. It’s also less of a disaster if a team misses on a high pick.

This is only a partial explanation of course. Our dysfunctional organization earned a lot of the bad years on (de)merit.
