Myles Garrett : NFL 2023 DPOY

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm also surprised at all the posters on here who think it's no big deal that Garrett has been caught speeding again and again and again.

The fact he's been caught several times suggests to me that he does this all the time.

Like you said, I hope this is a wake up call to slow the fuck down as it's only a matter of time that he seriously hurts himself or someone else.

This is far more concerning than the helmet thing with Mason Rudolph.

I'm actually leaning towards that he wanted to get a little airborne on that hill vs him just speeding when I heard his answers from the cops in the video is that he was accelerating up the hill, he didn't hit the brakes, and there wasn't anything that he was trying to avoid hitting. I also looked at the Google street view of the area and I could see that hill being somewhere people push it to either feel a little weightless like a rollercoaster or get a little bit of air. It's blind so if he pushed it alittle too much or his angle was a little off, he might not land on the road, it makes a lot more sense how he lost control of the car.

Theres post after post of people in this thread talking about how they repeatedly drive fast, reckless, get in accidents, etc. No one says a thing, but folks seemingly where their violations like a badge of honor and even seem to be one-upping each other.

I will say, I've brought up some of the stuff I've done but definitely learned from it. I have tried to make that point in my posts.

One other thing is super cars are so fast now that it gets guys into that much more trouble than a car made just 10-15 years ago. The Porsche 911 turbo s that Myles Garrett has goes 0-60 in 2.2 second. That's the second fastest car that car and driver ever tested. It's also pretty accessible to anyone who has the money to buy it. Some of the fastest supercars or hypercars of the past weren't accessible by alot of younger buyers because they were so exclusives that you needed to have decades of being a loyal buyer of the brand to even get invited to buy one.

Yeah, anyone who brags about driving like a jackass is a jackass.

Needs to drive like us non-millionaires. Set the cruise control at the lowest RPM possible due to gas prices.

I was pretty surprised he had a sprained shoulder and he expected to play Sunday.

I'd give it this and next week. Let it heal, don't need more damage to be done to a shoulder.

In the interview, the broken blood vessels in his eye were one thing, but the left side of his face looked swollen too. Let ALL of his body heal.

Is Myles going to get paid for these games? If so will it be by the Browns or like a short term disability policy?

Yes. By the Browns.

I'm sure if the Browns really wanted to get shitty with him, they could, but they don't and aren't.

Just another example of pro athletes not having normal human rules applied to them. I don’t view it as getting shitty at all

I have to pay for short term disability insurance so that if I do something stupid like Myles I have to use all of my PTO then utilize insurance to fill in the gap. Which is honestly how it should be. This injury has nothing to do with the browns or his work function

But then Myles bitches about getting booed. The horror

This is a 100% valid take.

Obviously it’s good business for the Browns to do right by their guy, but doesn’t make your point any less valid.

The difference is you and I are replaceable, Myles isn’t.

I'd like for the take to be all of us should be treated better instead of Myles should be treated worse.

My question regarding Myles is teams suspend or discipline players for off the field conduct all the time. Wouldn’t behaving so recklessly kind of qualify for some kind of team discipline here?

Or does it not apply to him because Myles is essentially the public face of the franchise? (Chubb doesn’t talk and we all know the deal with Watson)
