Definitely didn't see that trailer lol. I was mostly talking about the still images that EA releases every year. They usually look very good but the result is the same, bad gameplay.
As far as 2K basically making the same game every year with a couple tweaks and upgrades, what's the problem? A complete overhaul of the controls and animations each year would be annoying and not necessary. As long as they continue adding some new modes, upgrade the rosters with the rookies, and fix some glitches and exploits that's enough for me.
I think 2K is at a point where the game is so good they don't have to completely change anything on a major level. All they need to do is just keep improving on the areas that need work and that's what they have been doing for a while. They come out with a good game every year.
I disagree. There are still so many issues with the game that haven't been fixed. The skating players, non-fluid dribbling, ridged animations, terrible contact in the paint, cheesing, lack luster myplayer mode... Oh, and most importantly the recovery of larger defensive players on the fast break. I can continue. Yes, there are some good things going for the game that don't need to be changed. Post up, on the move offense, passing, stamina... But I wouldn't say it's in a good place where they only need to make minor changes. The thing is people have been asking them to make these changes or at least work on them for years. And they really market the smallest changes like they're revolutionary. They considered MyCareer in 2K14 a 'new' experience. It played EXACTLY the same. Just because they added LeBron and Demarcus Cousins voice overs doesn't mean it was any different.
I know I'm being a stickler for this, but if you can honestly tell me 2K14 was even worth the upgrade from 2K12, I'll shut up.
