NBA Draft Buyers and Sellers

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
if luke was worth the 10th pick last year ? and we didn't get to see him, i still think he has a ton of value to our team.

LUKE WILL BREAKOUT (WITH PLAYING TIME) NEXT SEASON

BOOK IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree. Luke Jackson showed the stroke last season ( even though it was garbage time ). Remember the 30 footer trey that he hit and the crowd went nuts? Wow.

A little note on Luke.....
Luke Jackson has been working out with Cavaliers assistant coach Wes Wilcox in Portland and is making progress after back surgery that basically wiped out his rookie year. But the Cavaliers should realize Jackson will have to go through all the rookie lessons next season because he played only 43 minutes in 2004-2005. He does have the potential to be an outside scorer.
Back on the subject of the Draft!
Gilbert said during a Cleveland business luncheon appearance on Thursday that he wants to get the Cavaliers back into the draft, and they can do it. The NBA has said you can pay up to $3 million to buy a pick, and that is a possibility. Some teams simply want to dump their choice, so Gilbert might be able to buy a pick. Other teams supposedly would like to trade a choice to get the Cavaliers' Sasha Pavlovic, but I'd be reluctant to do that. Pavlovic might be on the verge of becoming a very useful player.
This is a tough decision. If we fail in free agency to land a prominent shooting guard, the Sasha is invaluable.

Sasha might be very valuable to us IF we couldn't get a shooting guard, but if we can get into the draft, and get a point guard I'd do it regardless if we didn't get a shooting guard. Finding a point guard that snow can groom while his play is still respectable should be goal # 1. We have Luke as a back up plan at the 2 still, we have a lot of years invested in him, more than sasha.

If we keep Z and are able to guy like Deron Williams or Felton (one can dream), I would then consider spending my on the Lithuanian PG (Jasivicous (sp?). I think both Luke and Sasha to become both solid starters in this league and it will be a shame to get a high priced FA when one of our own would do the trick

Wait, so we are going to keep the wing position flooded AND get a draft pick?

It looks as if Sasha and Luke are keepers and Jiri is the odd man out. I wonder what we can get for him.

This situation is my favorite. While I would be for trading Sasha if the right deal came along, I would rather keep Sasha on the roster if possible AND still get a pick. He was probably the best perimeter defender outside of Snow on the team (or at least, it seemed that way). As long as Jiri could pull in something, I would be satisfied, even if he brings in little.

a few point guards i like are Jack from GT and Felton from UNC

also another point guard thats already in the league is Carlos Arroyo.. This guy can play, he doesnt get the playing time in Detroit and I don't know maybe we can trade Snow for Arroyo and a 1st round pick... Detroit basically has the last pick in the first round but we can still land a decent point guard... remember Tony Parker got selected to the spurs with almost the last pick of the first round..

Who knows, but I think we can get a decent point guard to back up Arroyo in the late first round...

and another thing is if we get rid of Gooden I would like to S. May in Cleveland... another Boozer type player... so some people I like coming in the draft are:

May, Jack, Felton, Garcia..

If we really are going to trade Z: how about this Z for Pietrus (who isn't moving ahead of J. Rich) and GS's 9th pick (I don't think they want to go younger and Z would let Biedrins' move to PF). We would get Pietrus and draft a PG (Felton?)

The next part would be tricky would NO go for a trade of Gooden and Sasha for Magloire? Two very reasonable contracts (one going off the books) for an often hurt player.

That would leave us with: Magloire/AV/Lebron/Pietrus/Felton? with Luke, Snow, and Traylor off teh bench. We'd have to sign a backup big man but that could be a potent lineup

Z to the Warriors wouldn't work under the cap. Also, Z can't be traded until he has a new contract and that can't happen until after July 1.

I would really like to somehow get high enough to take Felton. I don't know if Gooden and Sasha would be enough to do it. The Cavs would probably have to take back a bad contract or a mediocre player to make it work. Getting an upgrade and long term fix at PG is extremely important for the Cavs. They have depth at SG especially if a FA will be added and PF is a much easier position to find players than PG is. That's why I'd be willing to give up Gooden.

If a later #1 is acquired than Jack is a possibility.

Ike Diogu's stock is really rising and he might be the young PF to go after if the Cavs choose to do that. He might have more talent and upside than S. May.

Would the GS deal work, Narl, if they throw in Foyle's bad contract?

I think the problem with trying to trade Z now is that he has to agree to a contract with the other team since he's a FA but no one can negotiate with him until July 1 when the FA period starts. Sign and trades can't really be done until July 1.

I do think Foyle's contract might be enough to match up the salaries but I'm not sure I'd want to take on the rest of his deal.

i don't know too much about diogu, but which ever team i was, i would love to get my hands on sean may.. to me he is one of those character guys- that are proven winners. they show up in the biggest games and you don't have to worry about them F-ING up off the court.

i'm sick of all these guys with "POTENTIAL" and "UPSIDE"

give me that proven 3 or 4 year college starter that knows the game- and can contribute right away. (just like boozer) or guys like josh howard, and prince.

Diogu is a much better player than may. He dominated the pac-10. Diogu will be a lottery pick(unlike may who will be late first round) more than likely though, we won't be looking for big men anyways in this draft.
