2019 NBA Draft Lottery

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
So, if you had a choice between these two scenarios, which would you choose?

Scenario A: Guaranteed the third pick.
Scenario B: Current draft chances.
I Don't know what anyone else would say but I think we should be happy if we get the third pick,,I did that simulation thing 10 times and got 4,5,6 7 times,,,never got the first pick.

For fun, and because I have issues, last night I ran the Tankathon simulator 100 times. Here's what I got:

1(14% odds): 13 times
2(13.4%): 19 times
3(12.7%): 14 times
4(12%): 15 times
5(27.8%): 28 times
6(20.1%): 11 times

(As bleak as that looks, my 100 tries actually outperformed our actual odds off staying in the top3)

The bottom line for every single team/fanbase in the lottery is that if you're sights are set on just Zion or Ja or even Barrett, be very prepared to be disappointed and be very educated on who the next tier of prospects are. But also recognize that players like Steph, Klay, Kawhi, Giannis, Wade, Bosh, Dame, PG13, Jimmy Butler, McCollum, Jokic, Love, CP3, DeRozan, Cousins, Drummond, Porzingis, Booker, Kemba, and more were all taken outside of the top3, many in the 6-15 range. It is obviously FAR preferable to be in the top3 but to act like ELITE talent isn't found every year outside of it is a non-truth. Regardless, and more than ever, a lot of luck is required.

Kind of agree. Zion is the only truly must have player in this draft. Yes a few other All Star/Superstars will come out of the draft but I’d rather have a 14% chance at Zion and overall 40.1% chance at a top3 pick than a 100% chance at the 3rd pick but 0% chance at both 1 and 2

There is no reason to be disappointed if they are not in the top 3 other then Zion because he is a freak of nature that rarely comes around if ever.
The other 2 spots ensure the Cavs of a more proven high ceiling player, but there are several high ceiling options 4-6 and several high floor options there as well.
Obviously the higher the better, but they could just as easily find the gem of the draft at 6 , the only question is will they? I doubt to many Cleveland fans believe they will with so many missed picks over the years,so that could be the reason for disappointment more than anything if not in the top 3.
To me it comes down to character and work ethic because unless they overpick somebody there are a solid mixture of high ceiling 2 way players some with very good skill sets already , some with development written all over them but 1 exceptional skill etc.
Tough to know what they will do if it's outside the top 3 though and that is the dilemma that causes disappointment.
I mean if he has a clean bill of health you cannot go wrong with Bol Bol or Garland at 6 right? You definitely can't go wrong with Hunter or Culver at 5.

Gather together, troops.

Right now, what we need is your negativity more than ever.

Some in this fan base have jinxed us by claiming us a lock for Zion, and we need you to lose faith in our ability to move up with your whole heart and soul.

We tanked for this moment. We sucked for this moment. We've come too damn far now to turn back.

Post as many negative draft lottery takes as you can. It is time. Some franchises fall into the lavish life of NBA basements. We, we were born here. We were raised here. This is where we thrive. The darkness is our shield. The pain, our sword.

For it is in negativity and self-loathing that we, Cleveland fans, may rise from the ashes.

My bold prediction: The league draws out our ping pong ball tonight, but they find that it has the wrong serial number. They believe it to be counterfeit, smuggled in by Nick Gilbert, our young knight. We are forced to forfeit our 1st round pick entirely. After filing an appeal, we lose #26 as well for "excessive bitching."

So..You all believe Zion is in another tier all by himself? Big drop off to Ja? Just curious how ya'll feel on the day of the lottery

I think Zion and Ja are in a tier all to themselves.

I have Barrett next alone.

Then there's 60 feet of shit.

Then, I have Jarrett Culver.

We'll end up with the 5-6 pick, then probably take Cam Reddish when the time arrives. We won't get lucky again because of the stupidity of the Anthony Bennett blunder.

Nah, gonna be outside top 3 this time. Not sure if luck will be good to us this time.
