New TV Series to watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
LA 92 is excellent

Documentary about the LA riots. I don't remember much of this, some of the footage is unreal

Is this on Netflix? It amazes me that there's yet to be a movie set during the LA riots. I'm not talking the time period, i am talking the riots acting as the centerpiece to the story. I am not sure if its due to the fact that it would bring up social tensions (even though they're still relevant today) but it's one of the most remarkable events in social history, IMO.

I can just picture Denzel playing the lead...a father to an adolescent taking part in the activities (yes, i've thought about this before...a number of times)

BCS is absolutely amazing.

You can see the Jimmy to Saul thing coming, but all the cross over characters from BB you hated, they seem so much more human. Gus and Mike are seemingly good hearted people.

I don't think it's on Netflix or Hulu yet, I caught it on National Geographic the other night.

I had no idea it was that bad....
- Business owners standing on the roof of their store shooting at looters/rioters.
-gun battles on the street between owners and looters
-People being pulled from their car and beaten on the street if they were white or asian

Again, I was too young to really when this happened in 92. Makes the stuff that happened in Ferguson look like a walk in the park. Wild stuff

I was in law school when that happened -- pretty freaky. Obviously, lots of discussion about the legal aspects of the case involving the cops.

As I recall, there were very few -- if any -- rioters actually killed by those business owners. Mostly just warning shots, etc.. I really don't have any desire to rewatch it, but one thing that sticks out to me very clearly was that when Reginald Denny was pulled out of his truck and beaten, there were some black people watching on TV who left their homes -- risking their own lives -- to go help him.

Some people see skin colors, and some people see human beings.

Pretty rough. I'm not sure if it was the guy that you're referring to, but they spray painted a guy black after they beat him and stripped him of his clothes. Tough to watch

Google Reginald Denny.

If you haven't seen all of Stranger Things so far, you are wasting your pathetic life. It's ET meets everything X Files tried to be.

If it took you this long to watch it, then you are finally not a total loser anymore.

The Leftovers is so effing good. Nothing like it on television. At this point I honestly feel terrible for people that like watching TV but won't give it a shot for whatever reason.

The first season was unwatchable for me. Couldn't finish it. I didn't care anything about anyone on that show. Can I fast forward to season 2 and still get what's going on?

Dear White People - I'd give it a solid 7.5. As I can relate to some (but not all of the topics of discussion). It's meant as an eye opener/understanding to those who are not POC. There is humor thrown into it as well.

I initially thought the subject matter may have been too much/deep and didn't think I could stomach it, but the way they tell the story makes it a little less intense, but also pointing out that there is a racial divide in this country.

See, I thought the first season was really slow as well. I just re-watched with the fiancee though, and liked it much more than I originally thought. Season 2 is awesome. Season 3, now a few episodes in, is great so far in all of the perfectly weird ways.

I would say that you really do need to watch season 1, due to all the context and call backs. Don't think the better seasons would resonate as well without seeing the origins. It can be a bit slow, but was still interesting enough to me at least for it to be worth it.

Great...I don't remember much except the silent smoking people and the lady getting killed against the tree. I'll have to start from the beginning.
