I started Yellowstone on the Paramount Network (formerly Spike) this weekend. Great cast and writing, imo. New season starts up this Wednesday.

Pretty damn good; I've really enjoyed everything Sheridan has written. Although I have not seen Sicario 2, which I hear was underwhelming.
I just finished season 1. I purposely steered away from this show when it came out even though it had some good reviews. It seemed too much like the show Blood and Oil, which I watched for a couple episodes and grew to hate it. I also saw Yellowstone had Kelly Reilly in it and her acting was so terrible in the second season of True Detective, that I could believe someone would cast her in anything ever again. Lastly I'm just not a fan of westerns so I thought it didn't appeal at all to me.

I watched the first episode earlier this week and I was hooked. The show isn't overly dramatic like Blood and Oil. They do such a good job of moving around from character to character where it feels like they are actually allowing the audience to explore the world. They just know how to actually build this world and not get to focused in on one aspect. Most shows would get hyper focused and instead of taking place in this really nice scenery, it would play out indoors on a sound stage.

Anyone been keeping up with Succession? It’s been really good to start the new season and the dialogue is just so “rich people” shit that it’s really really enjoyable. Jeremy Strong has been just killing it since season 1 and the rest of the cast is great.

Just finished my re-watch of Deadwood. Been awhile since I've seen it. Show is better than I remembered. Makes me hate HBO even more for cancelling this brilliant TV show. It's just so addicting. I'm savoring the movie as much as I can; because then I know that's it.

Thanks for cancelling one of the greatest shows ever, dickheads. Same network that also ruin GoT. But cancelling Deadwood just really pisses me off, still.

Watched the first two episodes of The Boys. It's basically the same show as another Amazon exclusive, The Tick, but everyone is an asshole instead of just the bad guys.

That said, enjoying it a lot. The first episode had a great ending that hooks you in and makes you want to see what happens next, which is exactly what a good pilot should do.

Latest episode S2E9 was great, if you are caught up that far.

Best show out there at the moment, IMO. Didn't think I'd be saying that after loathing all the characters for the first few episodes of S1

I finished season 3 of 13 reasons why. I understand why they are giving it a season 4 but it makes a ton of sense that season 4 will be the last. The show probably gets alot of people watching it but it can't live up to the first season. Each season after has been a considerable step down from the first.

What is disappointing to me is that Netflix will end up giving a show like this 4 seasons and let it have an ending while the quality of the show has consistently gotten worse every year. While they cut ties with a show like the OA which got better in the 2nd season and had built a world that gave room to keep growing. I'm not sure 13 reasons why has any more character building or anything left to say, season 3 felt like they had nothing left.

Anyone else watching The Righteous Gemstones? 2 episodes in and its hilarious. Its about a family that owns one of these mega churches and the 3 adult children are all fucked in the head at different levels. Its a dark comedy and quite hilarious. It also has an amazing cast. John Goodman, Danny McBride, Adam DeVine, etc.

Worth Watching imo.

I like it so far too. I thought it was going to be an hour long show thru out so I was disappointed when it was only 30 minutes for the second episode.

Also being a Danny McBride show, you know HBO and McBride's group have a plan for how long this show will go on. We will get a full story and HBO will be dedicated to it.

Waiting for the whole season to be finished before I watch it, but it's absolutely on my list since both Eastbound & Down and Vice Principals were great shows by the same creative staff.

The problem is that it was a one season premise that blew up in such a way that they would have been fools to not do more seasons. Of course, given that it was a one season premise, they had to figure out exactly how to drag it out and, while I haven't seen the third season, the results in season two were mixed.

Started delving into season three of 13 Reasons Why. This season is Who Shot Mr. Burns and I am totally on board.

Binged it over the weekend. Thought it was solid overall. Has some incredibly-powerful moments.

The narration style kind of sucks though.

I am enjoying it a lot more than season two. I think restricting themselves to the same flashback timeline as season one really hurt their creative freedom and also made it feel like they had to retcon a bunch of stuff. Like, how did that relationship with Zach never appear on any of the tapes from season one? Makes no sense.

That's obviously not an issue this season and I'm enjoying it a lot more.

Yeah that part is really cool. I just found Ani extremely annoying for a lot of the season.
