So yeah, everything changed big time on January 5th. Here's little Vincent! (Who probably won't grow up to be the baller Vince Carter was, but I like the name.)

There have been ups and downs. The husband and I have never been parents before. We're still learning how to divide tasks and find sleep. And obviously "sportsball" has to take a backseat for a few months. But during moments of downtime, I've still been checking in here, and checking the box scores.

Hooray for fresh squishy pics. Even with all the planning and preparing its never enough. Figure out what works for you and lean on others, if you can.

I am not accusing you of anything, but Little Vincent looks allot like Kevin Love. Makes you think

He resembles me mostly, but he has his father's hair line exactly. I was a bald baby, lol.

Just know that every first time parent feels in over their head at first.

Wait until you rush to the ER at 3am because your baby is crying and screaming and nothing helps. All for her to fart in the room in front of the nurse and start smiling again.

You're gonna overreact, you're gonna be stressed out, but you're gonna be fine.

Congrats again.

That little guy just screams "future NBA three-point specialist." Make sure he takes care of mom and dad with what I presume will then be the NBA minimum salary of $40 million per year.

Congratulations!

Congrats!!!

Those first few weeks were definitely rough so hopefully you are nearly through it. I really don't know how we managed, its all a blur. You just kind of...do it. In a zombie-like trance maybe. Hopefully you and hubby make a good team.

Silicon earplugs and blackout curtains ftw. And I forget if I mentioned in your other thread but get supportive indoor shoes. My feet were destroyed after the first few weeks until I got Hoka One One recovery slides. Couldn't stand without pain. Absolute game changer. Putting them on was analogous to being constipated for a few days and then finally being able to let loose. I was also fat though so ymmv.

Also have an emergency bag ready for ad-hoc ER visits and if you have pets, a plan for how to deal with them. We just did two in the last month, most recently went in this Monday night at ~6 and left Tuesday night at ~10. Can confirm that Akron Children's carries FSO so I was able to catch the Monday night Cavs game during the overnight replay! (bc I sure as hell wasn't able to sleep lol)

And consider a low deductible health insurance plan

Oh the foot pain is real. It's especially bad in the evenings. I started to get metatarsalgia in the left one in the third trimester, and the thing still hurts. Don't think it's even weight related as I've lost half of the 33 I gained during pregnancy already, and the left foot is still acting up.

Oh yeah kinda forgot it would be naturally worse for the one giving birth lol.

That’s a good lookin kid. Mine were ugly af when they were noobs. I thought they were amazing though!

Don’t forget to rub a little bourbon on the gums when he gets a little testy… Infants love Maker’s Mark…

Seriously cannot believe that little fella is bigger than Baker….
