Newton Out, Ferry In?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Danny Ferry might not even be a possibility anymore either. Brian Windhorst reported in today's Beacon Journal that two people close to Ferry said he might not be deeply interested in the Cavs position.

There have been a few candidates for positions with the Cavs who have backed off. You wonder if the questions and doubts about Gilbert play a major role.

The Cavs could be in a tough spot if Larry Brown doesn't come here (which I hope he doesn't). Ferry might not be a possibility anymore. Morway withdrew and John Hammond of the Pistons said he wasn't interested early on.
The big problem becomes hiring a GM whose philosophy is similar to Mike Brown's. It's tough to force a head coach on a GM who played no role in hiring him and might not even have been in favor of hiring him.
This is why hiring the front office first is the better way to go than hiring the coach first. I don't recall any team showing interest in Mike Brown. Why the urgent need to hire him without a GM in place?

Kiki Vandeweghe's name has come up again but he seems like a questionable fit. Kiki has a more offensive minded uptempo philsophy and might not be a good fit with a coach like M. Brown.
