OK, we got a new title. Kind of a bland one because I don't know what to expect of OBJ this year, but it does seem like he's healthy and ready to go.

How does it play out if DPJ displaces OBJ as a starter?

DPJ will not replace OBJ, money still matters a bit, but more important, OBJ is very talented, we will cut OBJ if he isnt the starter this year. And i watched some routes in training camp, OBJ is back to cutting on a dime...he is such a good route runner and we already knows he has some of the best hands in the league.

Dont get me wrong, I have a full man crush on DPJ, but he isnt starting over OBJ, just our starter next year when we trade or cut OBJ.

OBJ had a nice game for someone playing his first game in a year. When he was targeted he did his thing.

I’m still not convinced that there isn’t some weird mental stuff going on with Baker & Stefanski when OBJ is on the field, but hopefully that’s an anomoly that gets cleared up soon.

I'm fine folks saying there's "some weird mental stuff going on," but I can't just let folks put that on Odell (not saying you are).

I've never put it on OBJ myself. I always thought he did his job. Even the 1st half of last year he was open quite a bit. I still have high hopes he and Baker can have great chemistry. That back shoulder throw with Jaylon Johnson smothering him was a tremendous showing of their chemistry.

I didn't really see any instances of Baker forcing it to Odell like he did last year before OBJ got hurt.

But Baker was overthrowing like crazy the first couple drivers and Stefanski's play calls were pretty out of whack.

Of course, this has nothing to do with OBJ himself (who was great), but Stefanski & Baker were both doing a bit too much early on.

Was nice to see them both settle down and get things on track heading into halftime.

If you think Baker was overthrowing guys who aren't OBJ because OBJ was out there, I don't know what to tell you.

I don't. I think it had more to do with Stefanski's playcalling, honestly. And even more so along the lines of "shit happens"

But, it seemed like the Browns came out trying to throw the ball around like crazy, which is pretty unusual

We struggled to run the ball early. When that happens, Stefanski seems to shift to a more pass happy approach to open things up later in the game. Same thing happened last week.

True, but our first three plays were also passes (and 5 of the first 6 plays were passes).

And then on the following drive, throwing passes on both 3rd and 1 AND 4th and 1 was very unusual.

Stefanski even admitted to doing a poor job calling plays early in the game during his postgame press conference.

Regardless, he adjusted and Baker settled down, which was great to see. And OBJ was great throughout.

If Baker completes those passes, I doubt people are complaining about the playcalling--they're saying how nice it is to have an aggressive coach.

Just so you're aware, publicly saying that all the blame rests at your feet doesn't mean it's true.

I'll gladly say that I sucked, that I screwed up, and everything is my fault--because one, I know I can handle the heat, and two, because I know that I'm going to make it right in the end. There's no reason to let that shit flow downhill to anyone else.

That's what leadership is. I know we're not used to it, but we better start adjusting to it because between Berry, Stefanski and Baker, it seems like we have a lot of it in this organization.

That's fair. Especially considering the WR was open on a couple of those plays, particularly Felton should have had a walk-in TD.

No doubt, and it's not the first time Stefanski willingly took blame. He does it often, actually, even if it isn't applicable. Personally, I just think this was a situation in which it was, particularly with the 3rd/4th and 1 play calls.

I don't think the calls were bad. You tell me that on third and one, I get Felton one-on-one with a guy in space to pick up a single yard? Yeah, I'll take those odds, and that is even ignoring every other option the play presents.

I think the awful execution on that fourth down rushed snap got everyone's panties into a twist. Someone needed to call a timeout there.

For sure...and this was another thing Stefanski spoke about. You could tell he was pretty displeased with how that unfolded.
