I’m not even talking about the slap, the money thing or his drunken state of mind near the band. It’s the watch, the no show in mini camp, the vague answer about next season and being on the team. 7 “official” drops. Then all the stuff while in NY.

Yeah, that bugged me too, and still does. It's one thing to skip camp if you're a veteran of the team, and are well-versed in all the plays, etc.. But for a brand new WR coming to a new team, to play with a QB with whom he's never played before....

It's just arrogant, irresponsible, and not taking your job seriously. And it was pretty easy to see during the season that he and Mayfield had no real chemistry.

I know it was “voluntary” but cmon dude. Be a leader and set the example. He has had so many chances to be different and he just doesn’t care. He wants to be in the news, we’ll do that by proving everyone wrong that you do love football and that you’re not a clown. His history proves he puts football 2nd.

Sometimes get the feeling that he loves the fame more than the game....

He just kinda reminds me of Johnny Manziel. Their drug of choice is drama. They're addicted to it.

The media is addicted to it, depending on the personality or celebrity.

Except for the fact that OBJ is an extremely good football player, Johnny was hot garbage.

I mean the fact that people would even compare the personalities of Manziel with OBJ is wild to me.

They couldn’t be more different people.

Actually enjoy OBJ quite a bit as an Instagram follower (one of the few athletes I follow), seems like a genuinely good dude and shows nothing but love to just about everyone.

Johnny's drug of choice was cocaine, and probably anything else he could get his hands on.

OBJ is a diva. We knew that when we traded for him. Not sure why everyone is so fucking surprised now. A lot of elite WRs, both past and present, are also divas. You just have to live with some of the nonsense if you want a guy like that on your team. As long as he's not doing shit that's stupid enough to get himself suspended, it's ultimately not that big a deal.

The dude slapped a rent-a-cop on the ass and made a drunken fool of himself. He didn't beat his girlfriend, break his kid's arm, torture countless dogs, or fail a drug test. Beckham might be a bit of a tool, but at the end of the day he's not a bad guy compared to a lot of other NFL players.

People just need to get over it.

That's wherein the issue lies. Media.
It's an easy place to lay blame.

At the same time, the way this thread went wasn't directly influenced by "media." You can argue that the way people acted was influenced by the media they consumed in the past (which I'd agree with) but there's also a large amount of personal responsibility to be better than that.

Let's shut this one down for a little while so a few people can cool off. Please focus on the topic not the individual RCF members. Thank you.

Credit where credit is due, OBJ was game MVP today.

That last TD run he pulled off was 15 yards behind the line of scrimmage, running around everybody. You can’t do that without elite athleticism.
