Re: Draft Bobby Carpenter

Kudla is a tank, wouldn't mind him in a later round :)

Sorry Gizman, but I cant do that cause a thread with that title already exists, alive and well I might add. So next time just post your articles about FA in there:

^This one if The Official Free Agency Thread...

...I was wondering if this thread on Draft Bobby C. could be changed to The Official NFL Draft Thread??? Or does The Official NFL Draft Thread already exist to?

Re: Draft Bobby Carpenter

Oh, ok. I can see what I can do.

Heard on WKNR that Kudla tied the record. Afterwards he said he thought he'd beaten it and didn't know he needed one more. Not sure what to think about that. Nevertheless, he's an animal.

Scout told Roda that he thinks Kudla will go on Day 1.

He'll go third rd. I would like to see us take him in the 3rd rd.

Chad Greenway didn't turn out a very productive combine. Here are his numbers:
Height: 6'2.5''
Weight: 242 lbs
40 Times: 4.75 & 4.77
BP Reps: 16

Bobby Carpenter didnt participate in the combine. Instead he is waiting until OSU's pro day where he will showcase his talent.

Look for Bobby to run a faster 40, bench more reps, and weigh in much nicer.

Yeah those numbers arent to impressive, but that doesnt tell the stroy about what he did on the field. I wanted to see Youbooty and Whitner but i guess they to are waiting for pro day in Columbus.

Whitner participated and ran a 4.4

The thing that kills me about Greenway is not only are those bad numbers for what most expected out of him, It just doesn't look like he put any effort into preparing for the combine. Lack of effort is not a good sign this early.

16 bench press reps for a linebacker would scare me if i was drafting him. The guys he will be trying to shed in the pros are bigger stronger and faster than the college guys he played good against. Hell, Cutler, a qb, did 24 bench reps.

Yeah, this Greenway guy sounds like trash. The only reason they have us taking his is because Savage is good friends with Ferentez( sp. coach from Iowa).

And most NCAAF experts ranked Greenway ahead of Hawk as the best LB this year before the season began.

Ohio States Pro Day results:

*AJ Hawk ran a 4.49 and a 4.42 in the 40. Those are absolutely ridiculous times. He's just blowing away the scouts. I would trade almost any player on our team to be able to draft AJ.

*Bobby Carpenter is only 90 percent healthy, according to trainers, but he ran the 40 in 4.66 and 4.68, the short shuttle in 4.31 and the three-cone drill in 6.88. He also did 20 strength reps. Carpenter looked very good in his position drills. Those are pretty good speed numbers for a guy who broke his ankle a few months ago. I'm sure Bobby can run faster, but i'm a little displeased with his bench reps. I thought he was stronger than that. But maybe that can drop Bobby enough to the second rd when we pick.

*Santonio Holmes was timed at 4.34 and 4.36 in the 40. I'm pretty sure he just solidified himself as the best WR in this class. Chad Jackson was putting up impressive numbers (4.32), but Santonio almost duplicated them.

*Donte Whitner was clocked at 4.39 and 4.37 in the 40.

*Ashton Youboty ran the 40 in 4.43 and 4.45, 4.18 in the short shuttle and 6.96 in the three-cone drill. He also had a 36-inch vertical jump, a 10-foot long jump and did 11 lifts.

impressive.

I would love to get Hawk on this team.

OSU's track is know to be notoriously fast.
