With the 39th pick in the 2019 RCF NFL Mock Draft....

... The Tampa Bay Buccaneers select...

Dalton Risner, OT, Kansas State

HEIGHT 6'5"
WEIGHT 312 lbs
ARMS 34"
HANDS 10 1/4”

Risner was a communications major at KSU and has already proved himself ready to use these skills to have a worldwide impact by creating social media presence as part of his Rise Up Foundation. The two-time All-State pick from Colorado earned the starting job at center for all 13 games of his redshirt freshman year. He moved to right tackle for the 2016 season and garnered first-team All-Big 12 notice for his play as a 12-game starter. He again was a first-team pick in 2017 after starting 12 games at right tackle, though Risner missed the team's bowl game to have surgery on his left shoulder to make sure it was ready for his senior season. His play in 2018 did not suffer due to that malady, as he was named a second-team Associated Press All-American for his play in 12 starts at right tackle. He was named one of three Offensive Linemen of the Year and first-team all-conference.

He possesses average length and athletic ability, but with enough tape consumption, it becomes clear he has the necessary tools to get guys blocked on the NFL level. Risner is the same player on every snap with core strength, body control, and strong hands, allowing him to succeed on a relatively consistent basis. His position flexibility (started at right tackle and center) and play traits mirror those of former KSU standout Cody Whitehair. Risner will need to prove he can handle NFL edge speed, but a move inside could be a failsafe option for him.

Strengths
  • Instinctive and defaults into proper mechanics and choices
  • Plays wide and keeps blocks centered
  • Drive blocks with strain and looks to improve body positioning
  • Operates on short and long pulls with excellent body control and radar to find his foe
  • Efficient on bump-and-climb combos up to linebacker
  • Patient on second level with ability to gather and adjust to moving targets
  • Punches with straight, stiff outside hand
  • Strong hands can snatch and secure opponents
  • Smart hand resets in recovery blocks
  • Has anchor to hold his ground against a power surge
  • Finishes with a mean streak
Weaknesses
  • Sluggish coming out of stance
  • Pounding, heavy feet in his lateral movement
  • Could struggle with consistency on backside blocks
  • Needs to re-set hands for improved leverage as drive blocker
  • Hands too wide in the run game
  • Weight drifts outside in pass sets against speed
  • Footwork diminished vs
  • Mississippi State as game wore on
  • Cracks the door for strong inside counters to come in
  • Inside hand needs to become more consistent
  • Mirror limitations once the rush finds his edge
Soda Analysis

The Buccaneers made this pick because, frankly, they need to keep their QB upright consistently. They especially need it sooner rather than later, Dalton is a red-shirt senior ready to play on day-1, because they need to get a good look at Jameis this season to decide whether or not to extend him as the guy. We are excited Dalton Risner made it to this pick & look forward to inserting him into the line-up from the outset.

Tampa Bay's Haul

5) Quinnen Williams, DL, Alabama
39) Dalton Risner, OL, Kansas State

With the 40th pick of the 2019 RCF Mock Draft the Buffalo Bills select...

Marquise Brown, WR, Oklahoma

usa_today_11768187.0.jpg

HtWt: 5'9'' - 166 lbs.
College: Oklahoma

My Take:
I promised myself a long time ago if I ever become a GM in a fictional mock draft I'm going big or going home. I've already got Josh Allen at QB, might as well give him someone other than soon to be 29-year-old John Brown to take the top of defenses off.

Hollywood might be skinny and already hurt, but he's a bolt of lightning that should inject Buffalo's offense with some life. Hopefully Brown is ready for training camp, as he could potentially be Buffalo's #1 receiver right out of the gate.

PLAYER BIO:
Undersized (130 pounds on graduation day) and qualifying late academically, Brown struggled to make ends meet while waiting for his shot. He attended College of the Canyons in California, working jobs while trying to keep up his grades so he could take the next step. The playmaker with the nickname "Hollywood" (his hometown in Florida, as well as his highlight-reel style of play) was a four-star junior college recruit after his one season with COC (50-754, 10 TD receiving, 13-402, TD kickoff returns, 9-182, TD punt returns). The cousin of NFL star receiver Antonio Brown chose Oklahoma because of its wide-open attack, and he excelled with Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield, leading the Sooners with 1,095 yards and seven touchdowns on 57 catches (19.2 average). The honorable mention All-Big 12 selection did his part against Georgia in the national semifinal, catching eight passes for 114 yards and a score. He excelled in his junior season, receiving first-team All-Big 12 and first-team All-American notice from the Associated Press by catching 75 passes for 1,318 yards, averaging a hardy 17.6 yards per reception, and 10 touchdowns. His receiving yardage total ranked in the top 10 nationally. Brown failed to make a catch in the team's playoff loss to Alabama, as he was slowed by a foot injury suffered in the Big 12 Championship Game.

OVERVIEW:
"Hollywood" is a skinny, but speedy receiver with game-breaking potential on every snap. His ability to race past cornerbacks and separate deep will require specific coverage and safeties ready to help. His thin frame is a liability when faced with contested catches both short and deep, and long-term durability is a legitimate concern. However, his ability to threaten deep with long speed and short as an elite run-after-catch talent gives him a chance to become the most impactful wideout in this draft.

STRENGTHS:
  • Plays with all-day energy and terrifying top-end speed
  • Feet never come to a halt until after whistle
  • Able to play inside as a playmaker or outside as field-stretcher
  • Slick, sudden feet to escape press coverage without damage
  • His long speed has additional separation gear
  • Early turn-and-run from respectful cornerbacks opens easy comeback routes
  • Vacillating route leverage puts tight-hipped corners in a coverage blender
  • Easy burst quickness to separate out of breaks
  • Safety help needs to be in the game plan
  • Dots both feet in-bounds on sideline throws
  • Electric maze runner after the catch
  • No gear-down needed to make cuts and elude tackles
  • Can turn short throws into touchdowns
WEAKNESSES:
  • Painfully thin frame falls below typical minimum standards
  • Will face concerns over long-term durability
  • Relies on explosive speed but requires more positional polish
  • Additional route knowledge required
  • Takes time to drop hips and get into breaks from sprint
  • Ineffective working into teeth of coverage
  • Average hands to finish contested catches
  • Inconsistent deep-ball adjustments
  • Swerves and searches for proper path when tracking deep throw
  • Lacks size and ball skills to battle for underthrown balls
  • Not a 50-50 ball winner
  • Offered no return value at Oklahoma

With the 41st pick in the NFL draft, the Arizona Cardinals select...

LittleBigAlbino-max-1mb.gif

Chase Winovich, DE Michigan

What more needs to be said about this man? He's a white edge rusher named Chase Winovich. If this guy doesn't end up in the Hall of Fame, we have failed as a society.

But you want specifics. You want to know what makes this man so special.

Well, first off, he's got a high motor. He's scrappy. A real lunch pail guy with deceptive first-step quickness. This is a kid with a ton of heart, someone you'd love your daughter to date. He's a grinder who never takes plays off. And where to even start on his intangibles. He truly gets the most out of his abilities by out-hustling everyone else on the field.

On a more serious note, nfl.com's summary of Chase Winovich says he "plays the game like he has zombie blood pumping through his veins." There is literally no way this man can fail.

Let's be honest...the Arizona Cardinals, heading into this draft, had no shortage of holes in the roster. I've taken measures to address the offense thus far in the draft, selecting future franchise QB Kyler Murray first overall, N'Keal Harry at the start of the second, and trading for Royce Freeman.

This pick shifts the focus back to defense, hopefully giving Vance Joseph a bit more to work with. The hope is that Winovich can slot in opposite Chandler Jones and help this defense beat up some opposing QBs.

Sounds like a real gym rat.

Ignore, sorry.

Unless there’s a second Parris Campbell, you’re shit out of luck, fella.

Poor guy might be stuck with Kyler Murray or Nick Bosa in the second round, luckless bastard.

So the way this works is the draft continues until @Ob1 realizes he didn't take the required thirty seconds to see who the fuck got drafted today. At that point he picks from the remaining talent pool.

43. Detroit - @MGMT
44. Green Bay - @AZ_
45. Atlanta @King Stannis
46. Washington - @Out of the Rafters at the Q
47. Carolina - @bigfoot5415
48. Miami - @smalls1129

Draft at will until he realizes what happened.
