Open Discussion (Cavs + related issues)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Na this is on off.

It's basically showing, since we stagger our guys, that bron plus bench is better than kyrie and love plus bench.

Kevin can't create shots and kyrie could be a better play maker.

I didn't think Kevin with the bench and no playermaker was a good receipe for success anyways.
He needs a playmaker like the rest of the old reserves.

Love has a 1.2 scoring index when Lebron is off the court.

When Lebron sits you lose a lot defensively regardless of whose coming in.

While true, they were measuring offense in that graph

Sounds like Mario Chalmers is nearly ready. He was responding to a Cavs fan on his twitter feed. Like him or not, even coming off injury he could provide a bit of that playmaking/shooting off the bench.

Still think they might need one more perimeter player with length to match up in the Finals (assuming of course they get there for the rubber match). As already mentioned a few of our roster spots are going to be absolutely useless when the playoffs roll around. McRae, Mo's spot and 1-2 others already are useless.

The circumstances are completely different, but after watching today's game VS the 76ers, this team reminds me of the 2008-2009 Regular Season Cavaliers.

The first quarter featured a 0 for 13 start. The second and third quarters were a game of catch-up and fall-behind. Two of the top 8 in the rotation were not playing. 2 of the other guys were in a mini-slump. And despite all that, we out-executed them in the fourth quarter. It was a game we could have lost easily, but turned it on once we finally caught up.

Similar to this year, the '08-'09 Cavs played a lot of games they deserved to lose, but turned it on when they felt they could. And had guys step up when not normally in the rotation. Like the March 2009 game VS Sacramento. They looked beaten, but fought it out to OT while Pavlovic brought a good game for the fourth quarter.

But even though we are missing a taller/larger rim protector and a NBA-ready backup PG, this teams seems more put together and set to succeed once the playoffs start. Filling in those holes may take some time, but we wouldn't want to have the post-season play out like it did against Orlando.

I'm looking forward to seeing this play out. Could we see one of our better W-L records by April?

How bad has his defense gotten?

I am convinced that this player is Liggins, if given the minutes. He's a game-changer defensively.

You would think so...

I'm thinking Love/Irving are playing so well right now, they might not need LeBron to win a lot of games. The team is clicking and playing on another level; like, completely, a whole new level of play...

But with that said, I wouldn't be surprised if, post-ASG, Irving and Love and James say "okay, let's chill" and everyone starts playing fewer minutes, regardless of the score.

He has really seemed to come in and turn the perimeter d around when teams are just cutting the defense to ribbons.

Any News if Frye or Shumps will be available for tonight's game in Milwaukee ?

This team is dead last in the league in defending the ballhandler, a situation they face 18% of the time on Defense. One of every 5.5 plays. Surprised this hasn't come up anywhere else

everyone too complaisant I guess....
