Remember when Michael Redd was just a chubby rookie hoping to break through behind all-league shooting guard Ray Allen? Since Ray has left Milwaukee, we've watched Michael ascend to the level of allstar as his statistics have improved every year so far. Smart money says the Redd will eventually share Allen's olympic experience.

Age notwithstanding, has Michael Redd caught or surpassed his former mentor Ray Allen?

Here are the stats so far this season:

Allen: 23.7ppg, 4.1rpg, 3.8apg, 1.8spg, 41.4%fg, 31.6%3p, 39.3mpg

Redd: 25.3ppg, 4.3rpg, 2.5apg, 1.0spg, 45.6%fg, 53.8%3p, 37.8mpg

Easy one..

One is left handed...The other is not.

There, done.

I'd still say Allen is the better alround player despite the strong start from Redd. Michael has had the luxury of having a better support cast to ease the burden of forcing shots. But if was to sign a player now, I'd take Redd due to his age and he can develop further.

Allen has been better for longer. Allen has been in the league for a solid 9 years as opposed to Redds 6 and has averaged over 20 points 3 out of the 6. Allen has averaged above 20 7 years, (in a row if im not mistaken) so say what you want but Allen is the better player.
