WASHINGTON WIZARDS’ NOTES

Washington needs to shoot better from the foul line in the second game. They gave away a good deal of free points in the opening game.

The big three need to rebound and have the good shooting game they’re perfectly capable of having. Look to exploit Arenas’ quickness to open up Cleveland’s defense.

CLEVELAND CAVALIERS’ NOTES

Cleveland needs to continue playing good transition defense to force the Wizards try and win a halfcourt game. Such a game favors the Cavaliers, so always stress getting back, giving good fouls to stop breaks and rotating on defense.

The Wizards might make an adjustment in how they handle LeBron James at the top of the key. Cleveland should run that play immediately to force the Wizards’ hand, to see how they will handle the situation. From there, Cleveland needs to readjust and continue to attack.

OVERVIEW

The Wizards are going to come out stronger this time, challenging Cleveland to pick up their play. Hopefully, Marshall, Murray and Varejao continue to make shots, hustle and contribute. Washington is going to play better defense this game, perhaps changing their defensive scheme altogether or using the same scheme but playing with more energy. Either way, the Cavaliers need to continue reading the defense and making the right play.

LeBron and co did their thing against Washington, and now they have to back it up with another great performance in Game 2.

If the Cavs manage to limit their turnovers, control the boards, and play transition D, this series is going to be over quick. When you take away the transition offense from the Wiz and force them to play in the half court, lots of their quickness and athleticism is neutralized.

In game 1, the Wizards bigs were entirely outdone by the combo of Z, Drew, AV, and Donyell. Lebron was ridiculous. The plan of trapping Lebron and leaving wide open shooters did not work at all. I think we'll see Eddie Jordan try to go to the zone, which seemed to work fairly well. At least it worked better than doubling lebron at half court. To break the zone, look to see lots of trey get put up by the likes of Marshall, Flip, and Damon. If they go down, its another blowout win.

Defensively, the combo of Larry, Flip, and Snow kept Arenas out of rhythm. Lebron seemed to do a pretty nice job on Butler and Jamison for some reason just never got much going. I think they'll go to Antawn more, though AV seemed to bug him and they even used a bit of Lebron on him.

We did an awesome job with the transition defense. Varejao brought it with the energy. For all of you who don't know he will be referred to from here on out as THE X-FACTOR according to Marc Jackson. And he is the X-Factor he brings the noise off the bench.

Another game like that from Donyell would be sweet, a point per minute out there. No need for Damon, Daniels and Arenas will pick him apart. Keep a hand in the face of the big three, don't let Jeffries or Haywood get easy buckets. Play like you did last time..GO CAVS!

Im glad to see there are a lot of white guys on these two teams.

Cali..let's not bring race into the mix! I don't care about your ethnic backround as long as your getting us dubyas! Whether your from Lithuania or Brazil just get us some wins in the postseason.

Im not being racist, Im just pointing out that there are 2 white guys out of 26 faces. I think its funny.

I know your not lol, all I'm saying is I don't care if we have a purple glow in the dark guy named Harry Cooter as long as he plays well then I'm cool with it

Harry Cooter. Daaaaaaaaaaa

I would be disapointed if we had 12 infantes with Cav uniforms on. :chuckles:

Well who wouldn't? It'd be a slowwwwww fast break :chuckles: Look on the bright side, Jiri Welsch is gone, and we don't have to worry about his sweet jumpshot anymore.

Last time we were in the playoffs, at one point we had 5 white guys on the court at the same time. On one hand, I was a little proud, as I'm sure that my team was the only one in the league to accomplish such a feat that year. On the other hand, I was like "CZAR, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING!" That lineup was doomed to fail. :)

Just for grins, does anyone remember who was in that lineup? Off the top of my head, I can only think of Z and Sura.

Edit: Just remembered, the Ukraine Train was in there.

I remember having 5 white guys out there at once, CStyle but I can't remember who. Probably Danny Ferry. Maybe John Crotty too.

Edit: Upon further review it was probably Z, V (Vitaly Potapenko), Ferry, Sura and Scott Brooks. We could probably just ask Brooks, seeing as he's an RCF member :chuckles: If he would ever sign on anyway.
