LeBron didn't need to take an absolute full max contract, especially considering he's going to exercise his player option every fucking year of the contract and sign a new deal.. He could've made that money back any number of ways.

He could've given the Cavs just a bit more wiggle room.

Lebron kind of did need to take the max, because of how prominent he is and the union/labor situation. After the owners absolutely screwed the players on the revenue division, the top players decided they were going to stop cutting the owners a break on salaries. The owners were using those concessions by the top players in bargaining.
 
Only fitting that Blatt's first series as an NBA coach is against the Celtics as well, as he was their fan as a kid.
 
I would put a lot of money on this not being more than 5 games. Maybe they'll win one in the garden and let us wrap it up at home, but I think it will be a sweep.
 
Anything you hear about this being a good series and the Celtics giving the Cavs trouble is either hopeful haters or media propaganda to try and hype the series to boost ratings.

It might sound arrogant, but this is going to be dull. Celtics might win 1 game. That is best case scenario for them. They have no muscle down low and are terrible from beyond the arc. The only reason they will be able to do anything is because Brad Stevens is a machine with perfect rotations and decision making through the game. The problem is he has an extremely flawed roster.

This is the playoffs. Cavs will not be looking past Boston until maybe game 4 of this series. It's going to be ugly in my opinion.
 
I consider the Celtics to be a very young/poor man's Atlanta. Over-achieving, well-coached, starless group who plays the right way. But we should be sweeping them based off firepower and their lack of a good big to clog the lane.
 
Cavs probably in 5 and the Celts keeping it close in a few other games just because I respect Stevens.
Really no reason for this to be any tighter then that barring injury.
 
Obviously we are going to win, but it's also important how. If Love explodes in the post, if our defense contests every single shot and forces them to run the clock and make jump shots, if we average 25-30 assists and play them like we played the Grizzlies or Dallas, then we should feel really confident in our championship hopes.

However if we sweep them but our game will look more like Lebron and Kyrie making turns in going solo, it would leave a bit of a bad taste.

It is arrogant. no hype no nothing.. learn humility. I will now quote the great Charlie Sheen who once said:
"Uncertainty is a sign of humility, and humility is just the ability or the willingness to learn".

If we keep stating we are so superior.. nothing to learn... just saying...
 
anyone else watching the Series Thread over at realgm? im laughing my ass off about some posts there.

I mean i love that Boston fans are confident in their Team but some really predict the Cavs to loose in 6.

Oh and Lebron is a scared chucker ... jeez.. never knew :D

We will lose a game simply because we will have a chill mode game. It's hard to maintain focus for 4 straight wins when your opponent is as pathetic as these green pieces of crap.

Sorry, still fuming from 2010.
