there is no way the knicks give up shumpert for a player who really doesn't improve the team all that much, if at all. the knicks fans wildly overrate him, i admit, but that doesn't mean he's a player who is traded for ramon sessions, either. It's gonna be Shumpert, Balkman, and Bibby for Sessions and our 2013 2nd rounder.
The thing with Shumpert and the Knicks is they are playing him out of position and he is expected to do well. They have Tony Douglas who is an undersized SG. At least Sessions could get the Knicks in their offensive sets. Also Baron Davis isn't a lock to 100% let alone 50% for the rest of the season. A back injury is no joke. NY has been looking at Sessions for a while also and they are desperate at this point to get help for their team before their fans explode.
I don't see how Sessions helps them with anything. So Shumpert isn't playing well out of position...well, Ramon doesn't play well in position. Amare, who desperately wants to run pick and roll, will be no better served by playing with Sessions, aka "I don't know how to wait untill the screener is set before going." He improves that team none.
moving shumpert could get more and more realistic if they continue to struggle, but he won't be traded for anything cleveland can/would offer.
yes but we are talking about an average pg whom they could sign outright in the upcoming off-season. overpaying for a player like that is a bit different than overpaying for one of the best scorers in the league. You underestimate the mindset of a desperate team especially in NY. Remember they traded the majority of their team for Carmelo just to make sure they get ther guy and keep the fans coming in.

even if sessions is "their guy," there will be better options in the off-season where they can even sign sessions himself. he obviously won't attract any additional fans, and really won't make the team into that much more of a threat.
nyk doesn't have many quality young prospects. giving away the best one for a player like ramon sessions just doesn't make sense and the knicks aren't close enough to being desperate to do that.
like i said above, if they do decide to move shumpert (which I don't think they will) they will absolutely be setting their sights higher than ramon sessions. and rightfully so.
