Preseason Game 2: Browns vs Commanders 8/11/23

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
No matter which group it is, first string or fourth string, our defense gives up first downs when it's 3rd and really long, and our offense never makes those plays. Must be the uniforms.

But Hickman redeems the whole mess, great INT by him.

It's preseason my dude.

Feels like Hickman solidified a role as the 4th safety and Watkins has a role with us, whether it be as the last WR or more likely on our PS.

Yeah, there's no true significance other than those being things this team has been doing for years. It's like Groundhog day (the movie). Same uniforms, same 3rd and 28 conversions against the defense. then the offense looking toothless as hell. There's a bad taste there and I want it gone this year.

At least they made it mildly entertaining at the end.

Forristal has had a very nice game. If he is a good special teams guy he could be worth keeping around for TE depth.

For all we know, maybe he WAS trying to kick an onside kick there, just caught it a little heavy.
No lie, I thought that for a split second when he kicked it last night. The way Joe and Chris were talking leading up to it, the fact that Stevski kept saying they wanted to work on specific things and he sent all his timeouts to get a 2-min drill under their belt, how they wanted to get Mond a chance to get good football on tape, and the fact that it could've given York another chance, all added up to him going onside making sense...then he booms it farther than I've ever seen him do it. #Oof

Onside kicks seem like a good way for players to get hurt. On both sides of the ball. No need for them in the preseason.

No, not really. How often is an onside kick performed? 2/3 times a year, maybe.
Kickoffs, Punts and Goalines could be performed 2/3 times each, per game.

Go through the performance of an onside kick. How is it more dangerous than any of the plays I mentioned?
