So I've kind of waffled back and forth whether or not I wanted to launch this league this year or wait until next when things were a bit more certain, but my inner fantasy football junkie ultimately won the day. I'm in another league, a free one, that is similar to what I want to do with this one and I absolutely love it and wanted to create my own version that was for money, because fantasy football is just more fun when there's a pot of cash on the line.
Here's how it works...
12 teams
Superflex - If you're unfamiliar, this means you have a flex where you can start a second QB, which makes QBs a hell of a lot more valuable
1QB/2RB/2WR/2FLEX/1SFLEX
$200 budget
Auction draft each year
$50 buy-in (we can negotiate this to a smaller number if necessary to fill the league)
After the draft, managers will have the option to sign players for up to four years at the amount they won them at. That amount will be deducted from their auction draft budget each year the player is under contract.
If a player is cut before the end of their contract, owners will take a cap hit of 1/3 of the deal (rounded down to the nearest dollar) over the remainder of the contract. For example, if I had Derrius Guice on contract for two more years at $17 per year and opted to cut him, as is the case in my other league, I would lose $5 of my auction draft budget in each of the next two years during the draft.
Anyone interested? We'd be looking to do the draft in the next two weeks, and I'd like to find a time that everyone can do, as I find that very important in an auction draft. Autodraft really ruins them in a way that's not the same for snake drafts.
If you have any questions, post them here and I will answer them.
