@Hurl Bruce get in on this bud!
@MandingoStill need a few more owners. Feel free to tag any other people you think might join.

I've never done any of them either--the most I've done is redraft with keepers. Jump on in--the water's fine!Really tempted, but I just feel like I'd get taken to the shed as I never do dynasty, never do auction, or superflex. If you fuckers get down to just needing one person, though, I'll take one for the team and do it.

Gotta take a first dip into dynasty at some point. That's how you learn. This league is going to be a little more forgiving than your typical dynasty league too, as you can only keep guys a max of four years instead of forever. The worst case scenario for a bad contract this year is that you're stuck eating a third of it in dead cap the following three years. And since a lot of guys will get one year deals or be cut next offseason, the draft will be a lot more than just rookies every year.
If you decide to join, I can refer you to some good dynasty podcasts to check out as well.
This convinced me. Fuck it I’m in if you need people still. Dynasty first timer.
The four year contracts will really make this a different game from standard dynasty. That's the main reason I wanted to make a pay league in this format. I took over a really shitty orphan team in a free league with a similar format (I tweaked the scoring a bit but the contract stuff is more or less identical) and turned it around in two years. The team I inherited really only had like one good contract in Cooper Kupp. I added guys to cheap four year deals like Nick Chubb for $11 or $12, Chris Godwin for $1 (this was a year before his big season in 2019), Tyler Lockett for $2 before he blew up, Aaron Jones for $1, DK Metcalf for $2, etc.
I also have some (in hindsight) terrible contracts, like Derrius Guice and Royce Freeman (I don't remember the exact numbers, but I think it was like $12 for one and $19 for the other, so I'm paying 1/3 of that this year), both of whom finally come off my books after this year! So it's not like I'm infallible. The fun thing about this format is that a few great deals can really change your fortune, and while you're punished for bad deals, it's not a prohibitive punishment unless you exclusively give out bad contracts.
Before the contract deadline, I'll also be making a post offering some recommendations on how to approach contracts based on my experience for the benefit of those of you who are new to contract leagues. It's not going to be anything super complex, but neither is the format when you really boil it down. It ultimately boils down to trying to lock down a few studs on cheap long-term deals before they blow up and then using the money you're saving by underpaying those guys to go all-in on some cheap short-term deals. You can afford some misses if you get some huge hits like I did.
