RCF's MOCK DRAFTS

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I don't think he's there, MAC... I sure as hell hope so, but he's been getting too much press as of late to be there IMO...

Your first 2 pick would make this draft very successful.. I'm not familar with the guard though..

Mac,

as much as I would really like that draft... i just don't see all those players being available at their perspective draft picks.

Lawson is the only questionable one..

He very well could be there. I have seen plenty of drafts with Matias out of BC falling all the way to the second round.

Greetham has us taking Bunkley. :thumbdown

12. Cleveland Browns—Broderick Bunkley, DL, Florida State
Can play NT or DE

I don't agree that he can play NT either. 286 is too light in the seat to clog the middle in our defense. He'll get tossed around like a rag doll. If he gets up to 300, then maybe DE, but even there I prefer guys checking in at 315 minimum.

If the first 11 went like that, I'd go Winston Justice or Chad Greenway (assuming trading down wasn't possible).

No Manny Lawson in round 1. Will he drop another 12 spots to us in round 2?

32. Pittsburgh Steelers—Bobby Carpenter, LB, Ohio State
I wish Bobby all the best, and it'd be great for him to get drafted in the first round, but if Pit gets him I'm going to puke.

They are saying Lawson could go as early as the Patriots selection he will definately not be there at 43. In which case we should deal our 2nd and like 2 4ths to get to the top of the 2nd round or late 1st.

I want Lawson more then anyone else that we could get. Ngata worries me for a few reasons..the mormon thing, he's lazy. I don't want Greenway he is Ben Taylor 2k6. I don't want Bunkley period, he has a high injury rate and some bad knee problems. Lawson is the athletic guy we need to pair with McGinest on the outside.

At some point maybe 3rd or 4th round I want to take some shots with some playmakers. The Michael Robinsons, the Devin Hesters, Maurice Drew type of players. I agree we don't need Bing in the second unless we deal Sean Jones. RAC has invested trust in Pool after dealing Crocker.

This sentence by Phil leaves me to wonder if we are looking to trade up. It's paraphrasin because I don't have the exact quote but it's what he said.

" This offseason we are looking to add quality not quantity "

We currently have 9 draft picks.. (1),(2)(3)(4)(4)(4)(5)(6)(7)

I'd love to deal some of those 4ths or so and get higher into rounds 1,2, or 3.

Sometimes you use quantity to add quality. So maybe you keep all 9 draft picks, and on the second day you draft 3 linebackers, get them all in camp where you can really get a good look at them, and keep the best one. You can end up with a 1st or 2nd round talent that dropped in the draft for whatever reason, with out the big salary.

Just something to keep in mind.

OK, know that we know who was available when the browns were on the clock, let's do this again. If you were the Browns this weekend, who would you of taken?

1.12 Ngata DT, Oregon. I would not of traded down.
2.43 LenDale White RB, USC. I wouldn't of traded up, or if I did I still would of taken White. White is a nice grab in the middle of round 2.
3.78 Max Jean-Gilles OG, Gerogia.

Here's where it gets sketchy. Not sure on some of these dudes.
4.110 Domata Peko DT, MSU (if you think he can play DE) or Barry Cofield DT, NW.
4.112 Ray Edwards DE (would be an OLB), Purdue.

A quick comparison of mine and Phil's draft. I addressed the DL, OL, and RB needs earlier, considering the only one of these he addressed at all was OG in round 4 (Sowells). He addressed the LB need significantly better than I did, as well as the minor need at WR.

I also would of taken Kudla late. The Stealers got a steal signing this kid undrafted.

Speaking of UDFAs, we should get a sticky going with all the browns signings, along with bios.
