RCF's MOCK DRAFTS

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
C Style -

I like that 4th rd. pick. I'm very high on Spencer Havner. I think he'll be a great steal.. especially if he lasts until the 4th round. But with the surplus of linebackers this year, he might actually be around in the 4th. He has good speed, good instincts, and can hit. I would love to have this guy. I think he could develop into a starter for us very soon.

Here's what Mark Leonard has us taking:

1. Ngata (he claims he'll fall to us)
2. Charles Spencer or Davin Joseph
3. Stanley McClover or Parys Haralson (to play OLB)
4a. Mike Kudla, Jamar Williams, or Oliver Hoyte (to play ILB)
4b. Kevin Boothe, OSU's Rob Sims or Minnesota's Mark Setterstrom

I'd be pretty happy with that. I found it interesting that he projects Kudla as an ILB. I see him as a passrushing 4-3 DE or 3-4 OLB.

What kind of mock draft is that? :chuckles: 2-3 different possible choices for each round except the first. Kinda taking a stab in the dark.

Kiper's latest mock has Hawk falling to ninth.

I'd love the first 3 rounds. NT, OG, LB. All impact players and possible long time starters. I really like joseph, McClover could really be nice at olb

If Hawk drops to 9th and Phil Savage doesn't make a move for him I'm going to be driving at fast speeds toward Berea with my combat boots on.

Here is my mock draft (through Rd.4):

1(12): Kamerion Wimbley (DE/OLB Florida St.) - The more I read about Wimbley the more I like him. He is 6-4 248 lbs, runs a 4.61 with a 38 1/2'' vertical jump, and he did 24 reps. Why is he better than Manny Lawson? Because he has better hips and wouldn't be a priority in pass coverage.

2(43): Darnell Bing (S Southern California) - Face it, we have three free safeties. Bing is a physical hard hitting safety who could step up for us and lay the wood. He is 6-2, 227 lbs, runs a 4.53 with a 38'' vertical jump, and he did 21 reps.

3(78): Kevin Boothe (OG Cornell) - Andruzzi isn't getting any younger. Boothe is a sleeper here because he will develop into an NFL starter very fast. He excells at run blocking and get has good height (6-4 1/2).

4(110): Jerious Norwood (RB Mississippi St.) - Norwood is a speedy running back that would make a nice complement to Droughns. He runs a 4.4 40 and he can get to the endzone in the blink of an eye.

4(112): Mike Kudla (DE/LB Ohio St.) - Our token Ohio St. player in this years' draft. Kudla has decent speed at sub 4.7, and awesome strength (45 reps). He also has the versatility to be moved to the ILB spot in the 3-4. He played MLB in high school and he could do it at the NFL level. He'll also contribute immediately on special teams.

Is that a record? Can you say freak?

Yeah he tied the record set by some TE from like the 60's..

I would be very dissapointed with that draft.

A saftey in the second three years in a row?

A RB in the first day when RB is not a need, esp one that will never be anything than depth?

We need to get quality players...those two don't fit the bill. Bing may..he could be a player, but S is not something that we draft in the second round.

Im not sold on Wimberly...He hasnt done anything that makes me say, yeah this kid can play. He is a classic tweener, which is what we may be looking for. But he is like option #5 for me at the 12 spot.

I wouldn't tackle the secondary that early either. DE, LB without a doubt.

A safety in the 2nd round 3 years in a row is better than a WR in the 1st round 3 years in a row (coughDETROITcough).

Pool, Russell and Jones aren't hard hitting run stuffers like Bing. I think Pool and Bing will make a nice starting duo. Remember the last safety to come out of USC? Bing is going to be a stud.

I'll give you that Jerious Norwood might not be the best pick, but what if he develops into someone like Willie Parker? He's got the speed to do so.

Wimbley will make a better OLB than Lawson. Lawson is freakishly athletic and that's why everyone is so high on him. But tell me this, how many times is Manny Lawson going to run straight for 40 yards in the NFL? Unless he's on the kickoff or punt team, hardly ever. Wimbley has better fluidity in his hips, and he can drop back in coverage. Lawson is better suited as a 4-3 DE.

12-
Haloti Ngata DT Oregon

My ideal position would be to trade down somehow with Broncos or some other team, will it happen? I doubt it. But this is the best pick if he is available and all sources say that he should be.

43-
Manny Lawson, OLB, NC State

I really think he is going to be there. If he is, we have a steal. If he isn't, I would look for Winston, OT from Miami or Hodge out of Iowa for our selection.

78-
Taitusi Lutui, OG, USC

If he isn't there, I have a feeling that we may look to get offensive depth here in the route of WR or RB, why in the third? Because there should be an abundance of talent from the likes of Stovall and Avant at the WR spot, to Drew at the RB spo
