He was injured and broken. The season prior though, healthy and performing.

Just about every off-season you want a new QB. This isn't fantasy football. You can't throw Kapernick a bone, or bring in Cam and rejuvenate his career, or expect Jimmy G to evolve, or Wentz to return to his few Philly seasons.

Go big or go home, and take Baker with you.

Jimmy G and Wentz were both injured and they both played better than Baker last season.

Also you are leaving out some of the other QB's I suggested that we get to. I don't see you mentioning Matt Stafford but you'll mention Kap and Cam Newton who have both had more success than Baker btw.

Just saying that I've advocated for a few QB's and mostly all of them have performed as good or better than Baker. Even guys like Mitch Trubisky has had just as much success as Baker has but we're supposed to be resigned to rolling with Baker because he was good for 10 games?

Baker Mayfield was the #1 overall pick in the draft and at this point in his career he's closer to being a bust than a Franchise QB. The numbers prove me right on that. He's average. He's not a Franchise QB. You don't draft a QB #1 overall for him to be average. That's what Baker is and it's funny seeing a lot of other QB's get shot down when on the surface they have simply been better QB's than Baker.

Oh please.

Jimmy sat multiple games, and Wentz ended the season the same place as Baker while having a much less impactful injury. Your thirst for shitty QBs knows no bounds.

Carson Wentz and Jimmy G both had stretches this past season where they were playing like top 10 QB's. They had the numbers to prove it and their teams were winning. You're ignoring real facts now. The stats and team success both show that Jimmy G and Wentz were better than Baker last season.

Saying Wentz ended the season the same place as Baker doesn't even prove anything. Justin Herbert ended the season 1 game ahead of Baker. Kirk Cousin ended the season with the same record. Russell Wilson was 1 game worse. All three of them are better QB's. What does where they finished have to do with how good they were individually?

Is Jimmy G going to bring Kyle Shannahan with him? Or how about Deebo or Kittle?

Carson Wentz was heavily, HEAVILY dependent on his supporting cast and was more along for the ride than anything else, I'd think you of all people could see that when we've seen it so much with Baker.

Wentz ended the season with a 4 pick performance where he couldn't beat the worst team in the NFL when it mattered most and they needed to rely on him. Reconcile that.

No but The Browns run a similar offense and Jimmy G has been better in that offense than Baker has.

So then what makes Baker better if Carson Wentz has been the better player under the same circumstances.

I can point to more than 5 games last season where Baker also shit the bed for us when it mattered most. So?

I do know this, Carson Wentz had more good games than Baker Mayfield last season. That's a fact. Wentz shit the bed against JAX. Okay, Baker shit the bed against BAL, PIT, NE, MIN, GB, DET!!!!!

Carson Wentz had better wins than Baker last season. Carson Wentz was the reason his team won games more than baker was for us last season.

And this whole discussion is crazy to me because I wanted Goff over Wentz and I was not a fan of Wentz coming out of the draft that year. I though his career would play out sort of similar to how it has actually.

He's still a better QB than Baker which says a lot about Baker.................

I can’t… I really just can’t lol when does the season start again?

Cash me out. I will not reason with people who believe Carson Wentz is worth replacing Baker.

I didn't say that he was worth it. I just said that he's been a better QB than Baker recently.

Tampa Bay seems like the most likely destination for him for a lot of reasons. It makes the most sense for everyone involved.
I tend to agree. New Orleans is another possibility although I don’t know if they have the cap room to take on Watson’s contract. More important to Watson is where can he go for a nice post-practice rub & tug.

It’s comical watching the Mayfield lovers laugh, ridicule, and talk down at other QB’s, not realizing that they are statistically better than their beloved Baker. You can’t reason with them so don’t even try…

I'm not sure there are many "Baker lovers" on this forum. Most on here realize Baker is not good and he will not get us to a Super Bowl. But now the question becomes what QB can the Browns realistically acquire that gives them a chance at reaching the Super Bowl? When the names being discussed are Jimmy G and Carson Wentz...yeah, those guys are not going to move the needle if this team wants to reach it's goals.

For better or for Worse Mayfield is our QB in 22... I don't see us finding a better QB without sacrificing our draft... We have a good OLine, we need a better DLine, WR, TE depth and we are a contender with an average QB... I think we can contend with Mayfield... and if he cannot prove to be better than average then in 23, we find an update then...

I'm not reading through all of these posts. I will say that 1) I don't know that Baker is the Browns' QB of the future. 2) The Browns make the playoffs if the team gets a healthy, vs KC version of Baker all season long.
