It's the top story on espn...they usually don't post things that don't have a firm base..
Ummm, dude, have you forgotten Clarret already? ESPiN is about ratings and sensationalism, not accurate journalism.

I still won't be convinced until we hear from Phil Savage on this matter. The fact that we haven't seen his face does not help subdue the rumor, especially on a day when we sign Bodden to the extension.

I wouldn't be surprised if he resigned in the next week. Angry, but not surprised....

Apparently there are personal problems, attitude problems between Savage and the President... they dont seem to get along very well, and this being a crucial off season, I don't know if this rift will want to be continued through.

Personally, I think that Savage is the best thing that could happen to the Browns, He's one of the best talent evaluators in the league. Perhaps it's the problem with money-talent, but I'm sure Savage does it fairly wisely.

We'll see how this develops.

Well, given a day to sink in and having read the Plain Dealer articles, etc....

I think the Browns are in pretty bad shape. The riff between Savage and Collins is reported as un-repairable. Obviously Lerner is comfortable with Collins as a BUSINESS PARTNER and considers Phil to be expendable. From what I've read Collins wants to add more BUSINESS PARTNERS (not football guys) to the equation. It's pretty obvious why things are such a cluster.

Lerner and Collins are trying to run a business.

Savage is trying to run a football team.

I say we keep Romeo and Phil and get rid of Collins and Lerner. That's my take.

I agree. Who the hell is John Collins? He seems like some cocky young business man who thinks he knows it all. This guy is clueless on how to run a pro sports franchise.
The Browns hired good people in Savage and Crennel. The business people in upper management need to take a step back and let the football people run the football operations without interference.

ESPN wasn't totally off on this story. They may have jumped the gun a little though. There are problems within the Browns and something could still happen after the season unless they can work things out.
