The following team rankings are totally worthless, but they do address the general abysmal impression of our offense over four games.
Our OPS is .753, which ranks 5th in the league.
SLG is .454, which ranks 3rd.
We are first in fewest Ks, with 22.
Eighth in walks, with 17.
Seventh in both HR and doubles.
But we are only 10th in scoring.
Four teams have played one more game, which has to be taken into account.
But over all, we seem to be putting the ball in play, taking our walks, and hitting with some pop.
To put this into some small amount of context, last seasons numbers and rankings....
OPS...689....13th.
SLG...372.....13th
Ks.....517......10th
BB.....239......3rd
HR.......59......15th
D..........96.......8th
R.........238.....13th
This is what often gets overlooked or whatevered.... The Central was a cakewalk division for several years. Not so anymore.Like I've said a few times, the easy AL Central ride is over. KC and Detroit are vastly improved teams even if they aren't contenders, and I'm not convinced KC isn't just yet. We'll have to see how their pitching performs and holds up.

Detroit still looks like a terrible team to me. Starting pitching overall is terrible. They have a lineup full of over the hill guys, retreads & Rule 5 pickupsLike I've said a few times, the easy AL Central ride is over. Mostly agree on the pitching, but other than Miggy, who is over the hill and a retread? That rule 5 pickup from the Twins looks like a helluva catch. He's only hitting .429 with an OPS of 1.714. Extremely small sample, but nonetheless impressive.Detroit still looks like a terrible team to me. Starting pitching overall is terrible. Well see you guys may be right but they have given up 9 & 15 runs the last 2 games, I think their rotation may be very slimI'm with @CDAV45 on this argument. Tigers aren't a contender, but they aren't the 90+ loss team on paper anymore. Both the Royals and Tigers got better, the Indians stayed about the same (maybe a slight step back), Twins stayed about the same (maybe also a slight step back) then the White Soxs got a little better (not sure how much the Jimenez for Vaughn on paper swap effects them tho overall yet).
We aren't in a weak division, if anything we may be in one of the strongest divisions in baseball even though the national media doesn't believe that.

Wow, a guy that had an OPS between .790 and .805 for two consecutive years against non-AL Central opponents just got $341 million? Lindor is the luckiest guy alive. He feasted on weak AL Central pitching for years and parlayed it into the third biggest contract in baseball. He's smiling all the way to the bank.Francisco Lindor Stats....
2018:
OPS v. AL Central .944
OPS v. Non Al Central .805
2019
OPS v. AL Central .925
OPS v. Non AL Central .790
That might explain his poor 2020, AL Central got better
