Series #30 Twins @ Indians July 12-14

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Hamilton on the radio said something to the effect of: “don’t count on any kind of explanation on that. The replay officials are in some sort of witness protection program.” He was heated, to put it lightly.

Also, I may be mistaken, but I was under the belief that a manager isn’t even allowed to talk about the replay officials call. If they say anything about it, it’s an instant ejection. Is that correct? Those calling for Tito to argue the call would still have got the visual of him getting ejected, but it would have been completely useless since you are arguing with someone who didn’t review the play.

That's my understanding

The second one, I could see getting a piece of the finger since his hand was over the knob, but the first one he was choked up a little. Only way it could even get a piece of him was by the ball compressing on the knob first.

In the first one with Garver, you can see his glove shake, but the ball absolutely hit the bat first. It was either compression or just the force of the ball hitting the bat that moved his hand.

The second one, unfortunately, looked like the right call to me. His hand was all over the knob of the bat. Just frustrating since Bieber was getting robbed in the zone. Thank God we won and that this wasn't a playoff game.

Okay after seeing these, I have the same opinion I did at the game.

The first one obviously hit the bat and did not even make contact with his hand. It's honestly not even close. This was as egregious of a call I've ever seen at a baseball game, especially considering it was reviewed on replay. I'll be in disbelief about this call for as long as I remember it. There's no world in which that was a HBP. And there shouldn't be a world in which a replay official can fuck up this badly.

The second one could have gone either way, I think. I do think it probably made slight contact with his hand. However, to OVERTURN the call on the field based on that video? That wasn't right. Not as egregious as the first one but still bullshit.

I wonder if replay also would have fucked up the Lonnie play in the ALDS against the Yankees.

MLB needs to get this shit right.

Thank God Perez & Cimber did their jobs and Santana hit a bomb.
