King said that even though the Sixers are less than $1 million short of the luxury-tax threshold, he will not hesitate to bring in players if they can "get us over the hump." He also said it was unlikely that Dajuan Wagner, the former Camden High star who worked out with the team last month, would be signed.

That's too bad that Wags isn't given his golden opportunity, despite being endorsed by AI.

Why would they have been ?... He is a SCRUB

Wagner is not a scrub. You consider wayyyy too many people scrubs. Just because he doesn't make the all-star team, doesn't win player of the week, or doesn't put up 20-10's, does not mean he can't contribute to an NBA team.

Wagner was unfortunate to have freak injuries and could never collect steam until he was injured again.

If I was Philly, I would take the risk to have another player in the mold of AI, just for the chance that his injuries are over.

I guess his only choice lies now in the NBDL, CBA to prove that his injuries are over and to develop some fundamentals and skills.

SIR,

You must be a fan of his. I didn't try to strike a nerve..

I don't consider wayyyyyy to many people scrubs.. DIOP I do..

This is what I do know about Mr. Wagner and determining his scrub like status....He hit the scene hard in 02, coming out dropping a couple 30 point games and averaged around 13 PPG i THINK

Now when watching Mr Wagner, it became quite apparent his game had it's short comings... I'm not a big tweener guy, so I don't hold that against him. What I do hold against him is the following.

Being from all reports "LAZY" (not my fault, HIS)

Not having a consistent outside shot. (like was reported)

Not being able to play PG. (can't hit outside shots, gotta atleast setup a teammate)

Not able to go left. (guards need that)

Not able to have a mid range shot. (apparently didn't have an outside one either)

Not able to have anything other then a floater off the glass going right.

Not playing a lick of defense.

Not being able to live up to A quarter of the expectations that I, and the rest of the NBA had for him.

I don't consider guys that are similar to him as with BEN GORDON and WILLIE GREEN to be scrubs..

Gordon at least runs around and does move when he does't have the ball.. He is not as streaky, and he can take it too the hole, and is CLUTCH.

Wager could only go right, and had one move to get there.

Willie Green is similar, and Like Wagner is hurt this year, But when the league adjusted to him, he did the same to the league, and proved himself... Thus being rewared with a contract. He would do more more but he gets limited mintes.. But look who carried that team when IVERSON was out.

Mr. WAGNER had 44 more games to prove he could do the following season what he did in the 47 his rookie year, and he proved he was nothing more then a SCRUB

Thank you :)

You are so wrong...

but either way, he will latch on somewhere. He has way too much talent. He just has to prove he is healthy and is NBA ready.

Oh I know how you're in love with him and his game...(The athletes you like are all a bit off centered) That is confusing.

Just cause I disagree with you doesn't mean I'm wrong, it means I disagree with you... TELL ME WHAT DOESN'T MAKE HIM A SCRUB ?

I pointed out (except for the lazy part, cause that is behind the scenes) I pointed out everything I noticed on the court..

WHAT DID YOU SEE OUT THERE, THAT GIVES YOU A DIFFERENT OPINION "TRUTH"

In Fact, I want "THE TRUTH" on Mr. WAGNER from you.. considering what I said was wrong and all..

Did you see a star in the making ?

Did you see a future all star ?

Did you see someone that could have a bobby jackson/david wesley serviceable career ?

Did you see the next "GREAT ONE" ?

Did you see someone that could help lead to a championship ?

Did you see someone you want the ball in his hand at the end to win a game ?

ALL I DID WAS POINT OUT WHAT I SAW..... WHAT DID YOU SEE ?

pipp is speaking the truth. wags was an animal his rookie year, but that was it.

your a scrub if you dont produce, and he didnt. plain and simple. make excuses on why he didnt but the fact of the matter is that he didnt.

what pipp holds against the guy are the same things i do. i wanted him to "break" out for the cavs and be this "messiah" that he was supposed to be. it just didnt happen.

all he is now is like all rookies, potential.

Is what I saw in Wagner. He has yet to tap his talent. I suppose if you discount potential, then he is a scrub. Projecting his flashes of brilliance over a consistent time period, I think he can produce enough to be a significant contributor on an NBA team.

And my scrub comment came from a previous thread of yours: http://www.realcavsfans.com/showpost.php?p=24440&postcount=32
With regards to College Player of the Year award

You vastly underrated a bunch of players there: Shane Battier (solid all-around player), Marcus Camby (All-defensive team waiting to happen, barring injury), Jameer Nelson (it's his rookie year and he thrust himself into the starting lineup)

Seeing that led me to be confused about what you consider a "scrub," because at least these three are no scrubs in my book. No superstar, but not a scrub. I would not at all mind to have either of those on a team.

That was nothing more then a "in the moment" type deal with our bucks fan.

Perhaps I should have said role player instead of scrub in some of those cases..

I would take a couple of em' However I wouldn't take wagner.. I don't see Wagner as a role player, because he has NO ROLE..

His shot selection is not only poor, but I thought from all the pre draft reports and from the little I seen of him coming out of memphis and that mcdonald's game, his shot was MONEY.. Like a Ben Gordon.

Wagner is a little to streaky, and the streaks (especially in his 2nd year when he played 44 games was too few and far between)

At times Wesley and Jackson will D'up an opponent (especially wesley) I never got that feeling from Wagner out there..

He seemed to have an Iverson like mentality of "GET MINE"

Also, if he can't produce offensively like he was supposed too with all the hype in college, he could at least be a servicable Brevin Knight pass first type PG. But he has limited skills as PG.. And he only dribbles one way.

After his 2nd year, I looked at WAGS like maybe with Luck he could have been a Derek Fisher like player settling on the perimeter for 3's and take it to the hole on the break, and drawing contact with that thick frame.. (I was hoping for Baron Davis)

But he doesn't posses the handling skills, or the shot..

Wagner is best described as fine china. Very nice appearance but is very breakable and is best left on the shelf (bench)

The most I've seen of Wagner is a chucker. But I've watched the past 2 seasons, where he was battling injury and saw only few games in garbage time. Thats when he absolutely had to get his own: to prove himself as instant offense off the bench. Slap him down in a more structured offense and he might do better.

His agility and quickness is not something to simply count off. And he must have had more than a floater and a right-side drive to drop 100 points in a game. Further development could have honed those skills to be usable in the NBA.

I suppose I just have a basic affinity for players in Cavs uniforms. The Jason Kaponos, Casey Blakes, and Willie Greens...

he dropped 100 in a highschool game, dont get that confused. yes that is a great accomplishment, but he could have been playing against a school with little to no talent. from what i heard that was the case.

since when did casey blake play basketball.

Im not arguing this. Ive done it too many times.

His success, or lack there of, was injury related, not talent related. Thats as far as Im going in this thread.

The reason Wagner is not in the NBA is work ethic. He has not improved his game since high school. He lacks the mental toughness to work hard at training and improve on his many glaring weaknesses. He has some natural talent for sure, but so have many players not to make the NBA. He just got the kick in the pants too late. Just hasn't received that wake up call.

That's the type of insight only "THE TRUTH" can deliever...(Nobody can post absolutley nothing that can back up his points better then "THE TRUTH")

Looks like He couldn't answer the Questions, So he jumped ship.
