Not true - our 2019 pick is at least top ten protected.
Oh, well we should be in good shape then.

Lol The Bullshit Whisperer? Come on guys.
Honestly I have issues with the way Griff built the team.
We couldn't play defense worth a damn when it mattered most.
Lots of overpaid players on the roster.
We haven't had a consistent bench for 3 years.
This roster has lots of warts and now has few assets.
If you trade Love for one year of George, you aren't beating Golden State anyway, and both LeBron and George are probably gone, leaving you with Kyrie and nothing to rebuild with. If this was Gilbert's thinking, then I am fully behind his decision.
Let me ask you, did you think JR and Tristan were overpaid after we won the title?

Who said anything about a championship window? We don't even have any chance at a good draft pick until 2021 if LeBron leaves. We would be the Brooklyn Nets for years before we could even start rebuilding if we have no one that we can even trade away for picks. I don't think trying to avoid a decade plus rebuild is a bad thing, especially when the moves you are looking at making don't make you appreciably better anyway.
You are not beating them with Love that's for damn sure, if you keep this roster LeBron leaves next year anyway, so the choices are:
- Do nothing keep Love, add some small pieces and get destroyed again
- You go All in on a PG13 rental, give yourself a much better chance.
I'll take the better chance please, because if we lose LeBron leaves either way, no matter if its Love or PG13, hes gone.
I'd rather rebuild for the next 10 years as a result of trying to maximize the greatest player this franchise will ever see in our lifetimes, than hedge our bets and hop on the treadmill a little sooner.
I could care less about being the Brooklyn nets in 3-5 years. We will never have another LeBron. EVER. There's nowhere to go but down from here. To me, there's no difference between the basement and the 4th floor. Down is down.
This franchise would be absolutely nothing without LeBron. We honestly owe it to him to do everything in our power to win NOW. Not 5 years from now or even 3 years from now. What can we do to win one more title before he starts to trail off. None of the other shit matters to me.

I have a feeling Griff felt we needed a blockbuster ( say Love for a 2-way player like George or Butler ) to compete with GSW whereas Dan likely wants to stand pat. Next 72 hours will be very telling.
