Pitching
Wins - Bieber 15 He's got a good team behind him and has looked sharp thus far. I just don't think it makes any sense to pick anyone else but he might have some trouble staying healthy.
Losses - Quantrill 12 In order to get the most losses, factors that help are:
1. be good enough and/or have the track record to be trusted to stay in the rotation, and not get skipped over
2. being healthy
3. most obvious one, giving up some runs
Quantrill wins on 1 and 2 and is at least probably more run prone than Bieber and TMac
ERA SP - Bieber 3.5 I'll go with a little more offense this year. And while I'd love to pick Civale as a dark horse just because nobody else will, the odds of him actually beating Bieber are quite low.
ERA RP - Clase 2.5 Just so hard to fade Clase here, even though he has not been the sharpest in ST. Hard to believe he won't be at least resembling his 2022 form and resembling might just be enough. It doesn't help that my other contenders are all also not looking very good or hurt.
Saves - Clase 32 Well he IS the closer.
Holds - Stephan 20 Healthy and ready.
Batting
AVG - Rosario .285. I'll just go with Rosario keeping his focus up at the plate on a walk year and pounding the crap out of the ball. It will be a soft .285 but hey might as well try to be original here.
OBP - Ramirez .365 The shift rule should be friendly to his BABIP and hopefully he won't be held back by any nagging injuries this time around. He's attained this OBP twice before.
SLG - Ramirez .520 As to the actual number, this is more dependent on MLB baseballs which will show more of the power depression that we saw last year.
OPS - Ramirez .585 Well I have him leading in OBP and SLG so just doing the math.
2B - OGonz 35 I just see him as a healthy guy ready to smack a ton of line drives. Has some close competition and there's danger of him losing playing time but I'm trying to be a bit original here.
HR - Ramirez 30 He's a consistent guy.
RBI - Ramirez 100 Whatever, I don't love the 3 hole for him but it should be fine for RBIs (not for runs though)
SB - Straw 30 I like his success rates and am optimistic on him getting on first base enough to give him some opportunities. Stealing with Kwan up makes a ton of sense.
WAR Team Leader - Ramirez 6.9 Why not?
