Kind of interesting to see Tully as the first guy out...

I actually want to see if Chang can take a spot out of spring training. If any of the out of options guys have a bad spring they are likely off the big league roster in Cleveland.

Criznit's disclaimer:

We are less than an hour away before I have some hot-take overreactions that are not to be considered real..

@sportscoach I think I have been pretty clear in my opinion of Chang, but I doubt he wins a spot out of ST without an injury. HORRIFIC performances from Bradley and Gimenez may open the door, but I doubt that even. He will be given a chance to take playing time as the season goes on though. Starting against southpaws seems reasonable and Bradley is the most in danger of losing his spot to him IMO.

Chang's numbers last season...

First 49 games...

.176/.211/.287 in 108 ABs

Last 40 games

.271/.314/.543 in 129 ABs

He plays a solid defense as well...

If you have the second half Chang, I don't see why he couldn't get a spot...

Tully and Lodolo both looked solid in inning 1

In case anyone missed it the game is FREE to watch on MLB.com!!!

Bobby Bradley still looking pretty fit. Maybe a little more junk in the trunk

Tully looking sharp!

We only currently have 16 pitchers on the 40 man, so guys like Tully, Garza etc can get a spot on the roster...

Tully is an NRI..

Lodolo looked like the kind of top prospect that will succeed..

Williamson, the kid from the Mariners organization.. throws a lot of pitches away.. he's in dire need of the Cleveland Pitching Factory... otherwise.. his command/control are going to push him into the bullpen..

No one seems to be seeing the ball all that well.. with, perhaps, only Chang showing he was seeing the ball and swinging where the ball was pitched..

Straw hit a mistake pitch for the teams first hit of the cactus league..

Williamson got Amed with a high change up.. After ten pitches.. he throws a change up in that situation... odd..

It's hard for me not to see Austin Hedges as our 1st official baserunner being ominous.. -HT

The only bad part for Tully is we have an abundance of power lefties in Hentges, Allen and Gose. In not being a 97k in 113 type pitcher, wont have room in pen for him and he is maybe 5th/6th starter in Columbus.

One thing Tully is for sure, is a helluva solider, much appreciated.

I certainly appreciate his contributions though he probably won't ever make the show, maybe a cup o' coffee. Perhaps he is coaching material - clearly he loves the game.
