Some pretty nice deals there today.

Dishonored is an absolutely amazing game. If you don't have it, you should definitely buy it. Same goes for BioShock Infinite.

I also enjoyed Arkham Origins. I thought the story was better than Arkham City, although the combat just has this "off" feeling, like I got hit a lot more during freeflow than in City because of the game rather than because of me. Still a pretty great Batman game, though.

Having played The Stanley Parable for about half an hour, everyone should buy this game. It's brilliant. I have no idea how many different endings or deviations there are, but so far it has been funny, smart, and just totally inventive. It's a steal for $8.99.

What's it about, exactly? I've never even heard of it until you mentioned it in the OP.

It's really tough to describe without giving things away. Essentially, you play as Stanley, an office worker who sits at a desk and presses the buttons he's told to press all day. He finds himself in the office one day and everyone else has vanished. There's a narrator who guides Stanley through his journey, but you can choose to follow the narrator or disobey him. If you disobey him, new story variations pop up. It's almost like a puzzle game with no real failures. There are a bunch of different endings. I've found four so far, and I know there are more, as there are plenty of paths I have yet to explore, and variations of paths I have already explored.

There's no action and it's a very basic game, but the writing is brilliant and I love the way it pokes fun at how games have basically become tutorials, where you're told what to do and what to press. This game challenges you to do your own thing and see what happens, and it's occasionally funny and often clever. The narrator is great and totally sells it.

It's only $8.99 and I can already tell it was totally worth it. Give it a try. As long as you're the type who can appreciate games that don't involve mass murder, you'll probably like it. It's an adventure game. Or rather, a choose your own adventure game. I read tons of positive reviews and after about an hour with the title I can say they were warranted. I don't often fall in love with a game this quickly (for example, critics praised the shit out of Gone Home and I found myself pissed I paid twenty bucks for it...not that it was bad...just horribly overpriced for what it was). This is a great experience. I've laughed out loud at least a dozen times so far.

Good writing > mass murder any day when it comes to any sort of media, I think. I'll have to check it out.

I want to get Bio-Shock infinite but I have not played the first two. Do I have to play those to enjoy Infinite?

Not really. The story is mostly independent of the first two. The second game was actually developed by a different studio entirely. You could easily play the first BioShock, skip the second, and go on to Infinite. Or you could just play Infinite. There's a bit near the end that won't mean as much if you haven't played the first game, but for the most part it's not required.

You don't have to, but it would be beneficial to know the play style and the story line.

I played half of Bio Shock 1 and started Bio Shock Infinite, never really had any problems.

FYI, you can buy the BioShock Triple Pack for $14.99 on Steam right now. That's 81% off.

New deals today:
  • Forced - 50% Off - $7.49

  • Sleeping Dogs - 80% Off - $4.99

Sleeping Dogs is an absolute steal for $4.99. Great game if you're into the GTA-style open world games. The hand-to-hand combat in that game is ridiculously fun and the story is pretty solid from start to finish. And if you've played Telltale's The Walking Dead and loved it, Wolf Among Us is a must-buy. Only the first episode is out right now, but it was really good.

Also, XCOM: Enemy Unknown is on sale for $9.99 and Deus Ex: Human Revolution is on sale for $4.99 for another three hours. Both great deals.

I feel like this is what I've been waiting for with The Wolf Among Us. Question is, will they drop the price even more, or is this as low as it's gonna get?

Probably as low as it's going to get during this sale.
