Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Citadel backstopped them once, they can do it again. It’s not as simple as that guy is making it out to be

At what point do they stop throwing good money at bad money. I know another few billion isn't shit for them, but why not cut bait?

No idea. Also not sure why shorts have dug their heels in to this extent. The risk reward is trash, but every day it seems like a new batch of people are ready to short and call the top. Just throw in the white flag and move on. Why this is worth blowing up your hedge fund over is beyond me

If they were smart they would have hedged this when it really started moving by grabbing some waaaaaay OTM calls to hedge against a parabolic move. Would've cost pennies on the dollar before this thing really took off. But it seems like mostly a pride thing at this point for whatever reason.

yep, has to be a pride thing. they should have bought the calls, then closed their short and bought out of the money puts. Stock will eventually fall, won't do them any good if they get margin called out of existence first.

no, but stock closed after hours above the point of wiping it all out.

Citadel almost has to cover them again to have any chance of getting back the first few billion.

I think this goes to the credibility of hedge funds.. they get thier money from investors on the premise they know what they are doing..big they lose billions to a bunch of redditors it's, that pitch doesn't work.. And while WSB gets the credit for starting, nobody really knows where the antishorts money is coming from...

This is going to change things though.. whatever rational model of investing behavior was being used is shit right now..

It’s pretty funny to me that the broad market can be down 1.1% while GameStop is up >100% lol

Top tick premarket so far has been 365

People are thinking it’s a fake phone call.
Wouldnt surprise me, but then according to that one guys math I haven’t checked they should be paper insolvent

But the greater thing here is that people aren’t going to give up justifying buying anytime soon. I really feel good about my 600-800 guess. Not good enough to buy but whatever I guess I’m a coward.

I’m also a coward.

This market is so weird. Microsoft is one of my biggest holdings. They just obliterated earnings. On the week they're up 6% and it's kind of like.... that feels like nothing in today's market

I am a complete noob when it comes to stocks and trading. I've got the traditional retirements accounts with Charles Schwab, also through my work, etc.

Are you all using Robinhood for these trades? My circle of friends seem to talk about it a lot. I signed up and got my free $2.25 stock and turned it into $8 so I'm pretty sure I'm going to put next month's mortgage payment into it. :chuckle: :alc:

Pretty much every brokerage offers free trades at this point. I use TD and Interactive Brokers.

I have Robinhood and TD Ameritrade. I think Robinhood is more user friendly (at least for new people), but it’s not the best that’s for sure.
