They're an extension of our fandom.
But whatever; what I take from this game (and yesterday's) is we might have a keeper in Felder by the time the real season starts. He's so poised, making an impact like he has without stuffing the stat sheet.
McRae seems okay. He's better than having Harris. And if he's not good enough for us, we might deal him later for an upgrade.
Pointer might make the roster too. He's the only other one worth salt so far.
I get that...but you have guys playing in roles way over their head right now, with teammates who will be either in the D-League or overseas in a few weeks...and we have people in here acting like they are playing with studs in games that matter.
I mean, I'm just catching the replay, and McRae lost about 6 or 7 assists cause his bigs can't finish or catch a pass and wings can't make wide open looks at 3...same goes for Felder, who was terrific moving the ball from what I am seeing...yet everyone's in here wondering why McRae is trying to do everything himself, as the only scorer on a team with no scorers...also, whatever the hell the offense the Cavs are running, its weird...lot of off ball screens early in sets, few on ball screens early in sets, and a lot of high post/elbow action, but they have no big who can properly seal off their man and the pass keeps getting deflected or stolen...if shit hits the fan, then they run an on ball PnR with little time left on the shot clock...really weird sets being ran...
But all you want to look for is a transferable skill when watching these game. Scoring from a vast amount of areas is a transferable skill to the NBA. Setting up bigs off PnRs is a transferable skill. Length in the passing lanes is a transferable skill. Drive and kicks are a transferable skill. Getting past defenders and into the lane at will is a transferable skill...I saw a lot of things from both Felder and McRae that, when they are in their proper roles and not option 1 and 2, that I really liked...but you'd have thought McRae just went 2-20 and never passed the ball reading some of these comments...
And Sir'Dom is certainly interesting from a defensive standpoint...him guarding everything from PGs to PFs so far makes his value increase a little bit...but you are pretty much playing 4 on 5 on the offensive side of the ball when he is out there...would really love to see him try to do too much, like McRae and Felder (at times) have done...gotta see if there is something useful there on offense outside of what he can do in transition before I start calling for him to be on the 15 man...
