Summer League Game 3 - Cavs vs. Pelicans - Monday, July 15, 2013, 6:00pm EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm a little surprised that Dion isn't showing any improvement anywhere in his game. Wonder what he's been working on? Hopefully something that requires first breaking down a bad habit / getting worse, and now the upswing will begin between Vegas and Training Camp.

It's still relatively early in the off-season. Lots of time to keep working and improving between now and the start of the season. Hopefully Dion will be the first to recognize he's gotta keep working on all facets of his game....

Dion's jumper in catch and shoot situations leaves a lot to be desired. his defense is still average at best too. No need to over react, but I have not been impressed so far over these 3 games.

BROCKMAN and RIVERS

Killed Tyler and Dion all day

It's fucking Summer League. The micro analysis is absurd..... No shit he needs to work on things, but you're going to judge him off a summer league performance? He's not playing for a job, this is the middle of his fucking offseason, let's wait to judge him in October and November, not in July.

Then why even play in it.

Everytime you step on the court is a chance to develop weaknesses in your game. I get so damn tired of Summer League and Preseason apologists.

Does he look at the calendar and just decide to turn off bad habits?

Christ, relax. Are we not allowed to point out that he hasn't shown too much? You'd think he was talking about your son at a little league game.

Well, that was poor effort from Waiters. Probably his worst game of the three.

Really not sure why we have to see so much of Higgins, though. I get that the goal here isn't to win and we want to get looks at everyone, but doesn't Dellavedova deserve more time than the other dudes vying for that PG spot at this point?

What is up with Goulding? Played four minutes total over two games now. Not that I'm concerned but...its weird.

So why does Kevin Jones have a roster spot if he is uninjured and not going to play?

There's a difference between micro analysis and what a lot of people are saying on these forums. I think a lot of it is from everyone getting their hopes up, maybe unrealistically so, due to his workout videos. Especially when he showed off an improved jumper form.

So excuse us for being disappointed when his jumper form still shows the same flaws as last year...falling back, unbalanced, leg kick. That's what I'm most disappointed about. And summer league isn't an excuse for that.

Logic could be that we already signed Dellavedova and we're just giving Higgins a chance to prove himself.

Yea I don't get giving the guy the invite on short notice and then not playing him.

He is in a practice session with guys he would never have gotten to play against had we not invited him. If he is doing good, why showcase him to other teams, and if not, why put him in a position that will hurt his confindence.
