The 2013 Men's NCAA Basketball Tournament

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Says guy with a Kyrie in a duke jersey as an avatar...lols
one player does not negate the douchebaggary of an entire basketball program & their fans

and i've been too lazy to change it since he was drafted

OSU-Arizona will tip at 7:47 on Thursday. Announcing crew will be Kevin Harlan, Len Elmore and Reggie Miller :thumbdown

Why is that a bad crew? Kevin is a consummate professional, and Reggie is actually better at calling the college game than the pro game.

Yeah agree that's a bummer crew.

Some other things:

Illinois got absolutely robbed. Charles not even mentioning it is comical.

I am so happy Marshall Henderson is out of the tournament.

I haven't watched Arizona this year. Hopefully some west coasters drop some input.

Cody Zeller is underwhelming

Ive watched Arizona a bunch...

At one point in time earlier in the year, I thought they were one of the best teams in the country. Until they REALLY got beat by Colorado or Colorado St at home (cant remember which one) and the refs gave the game to Arizona instead. Seemed to be Karma the way they fell apart after that. Lost both games against UCLA that I watched.

Have Mark Lyons from Xavier running the point. Nick Johnson from those Tristan THompson Findlay Prep teams is playing the Delonte West/Shannon Brown at MSU combo guard role. Lock down defender who can jump out of the gym and plays with the same defensive tenacity of Aaron Craft.

Soloman Hill is their lone post guy who brings it everyday. Plays like TT on Cavs. Positional defender who crashes offensive glass.

The real strength of the team, is Lyons however. He really stepped in and took over the role that was intended for Josiah Turner. Alpha male/ball dominant. Team goes as he goes. Plays right into Craft and Scott's strength. Ironically, Arizona is built similar to Lucious running Iowa State and Appling/Burke running MSU and UM. Buckeyes have played teams like this all season and have had some success depending on if refs let Craft body the PG.

Sean Miller is not as good of a coach as Beilein or Izzo, so I dont worry about that as much as I worry about Thad getting a 10 point lead with under 10 minutes to go again, and taking the air out of the ball while the opposition storms back. Thad has GOT to quit doing that. Its like Bill Cowher all over again. He takes the air out of the ball with a 10 point lead and then just lets Craft, ROss or Thomas try to create with under 10 on the shot clock. Killed me today.

If this were December, Id be more afraid of Arizona. But they simply go as Mark Lyons goes. And we have two PGs and great length to switch onto him like UCLA had with Drew, Anderson... I think we will be fine.

I do agree with you on Harlan. He calls a great game and brings excitement when it's needed. Miller and Elmore are just awful though. Listening to those two this weekend was painful.

What year was it when Zona throttled Duke in the sweet 16 game on the west coast? That is what makes me nervous - just the home court factor for Zona...

Kevin Harland is good. The other two, no thanks, no thanks. I'd rather take Steve Kerr.

Unfortunately that was 2011, Kyrie's only year. When Derrick Williams and MoMo Jones...yes that one...ran roughshod over Duke in Anaheim.

Forgot to mention this before, but fantastic post, Rch. This is why RCF is and always will be several cuts above every other sports message board on the internet.

I'm not sure what's worse, the general quality of NCAA basketball or the officiating. That out of bounds call against Illinois was one of the most blatant, horrible calls in recent memory. I mean, the Miami player is coming from behind for the rebound, 2 Illinois players in position, Miami player practically punches it out of bounds....Miami ball and game.

At least it's been entertaining as ever. Watching FGCU has been a riot. That team has more swag than the Heat, an entire team of irrational confidence guys that love putting on a show. Outside of Wichita St. v La Salle the sweet 16 has a bunch of interesting match ups. I'm particularly excited for Michigan v Kansas, Michigan St. v Duke and FGCU v Florida. I have a feeling that some of these games are going to be legendary.
