Nothing wrong with trying to bunt for a hit
Especially if the opponent is playing back and not expecting a bunt to be attempted..Nothing wrong with trying to bunt for a hit
One silver lining if there is a season is that all of our players with injuries should be healed up by the time they'd get going. Naquin was reportedly close as is, Clase's 12 week timeline would put him at mid-to-late May, Clevinger looks ready now, and Carrasco's elbow will have plenty of time to heal. We would theoretically be ready to roll in what would amount to a pennant race from the start. I also think there's a chance, with doubleheaders mixed in, that teams may run with a 6 man rotation, or at least hang on to a 6th starter. This means Plutko may have a spot on this roster as a starter.

1B-Santana
2B-Hernandez
SS-Lindor
3B-Ramirez
LF-Luplow/Naquin platoon
CF-Mercado
RF-Reyes
DH-D. Santana/Bradley
Allen, Leon, Arroyo, Deshields Jr. are probably the rest of the position players

One thing that's really interesting to watch is, if they do play, what happens with the trade deadline as the Indians have made a habit of adding a rental bat almost every summer.
The answer, to me, is playing games with no fans at times. It sucks and it'd be weird, but a lot of fans follow baseball on TV anyhow and at least games would be played.
I agree this is likely and it would be awesome for the Indians if they could start a shortened season at full strength. If there are a lot of doubleheaders it will be a huge advantage to the teams that are deep in starting pitching. We would probably have the best 4-5-6 starters in baseball, not to mention Bieber, Clev, and CC at the top.One silver lining if there is a season is that all of our players with injuries should be healed up by the time they'd get going. The players and owners apparently disagree :
See the asterisk footnote.
They absolutely do want to consider no-fan games.
Big oversight by Keith: each division has 5 teams. No way all 30 games can be done as vs in division only as 1 team per division would be left idle (no opponent) at a time...Could a 32-game schedule be MLB's best solution? - ESPN Video
Keith Olbermann pitches the idea of a 32-game MLB September regular season schedule in which teams play eight games against all divisional opponents.www.espn.com
If they were they would have said they would and not the first statement. That was the follow-up to cover the fan backlash.See the asterisk footnote.
