Dennis Smith Jr could be a good replacement for Pangos.
What a fall from grace. Ive long been one of the biggest DSJ stans since I watched him get a game winning layup at the buzzer against my Blue Devils. It was a great finish and I was right behind the basket. But his game just never translated...he never improved as a shooter and had worse vision than we thought. Hope he finds a way to stick somewhere but I don't think he really helps usDennis Smith Jr could be a good replacement for Pangos.
No kidding. Dennis was on an upwards trajectory in Dallas. I recall actually picking him up in fantasy and loving the categories he provided (roughly 13 pts, 4 rbs and 5 assists) - all playing in the high 20s per night. Then went to the Knicks to finish the season and remained stable (playing time, stats). The following season, he fell off dramatically (playing time and stats cut in half).
What the hell happened? Was it the environment he was in? Weren't the Mavs still winning at that time - which would mean he was a solid contributor to a winning team...then got traded to some ass franchises and numbers went down. Is he a reclamation project? Dude is only 24 years old. If he is available and has a good attitude, I'm all over investigating the potential.
Why is it always Ira Newble ?
Why can’t it be Stephen Graham or Martynas Andriuškevičius ? Ever. Always Newble
If we have an open roster spot he'd be a great guy to snatch up. Clearly a talent who's had some rough breaks and injuries. This article gets into what happen to him. Injuries then falling out of favor with Thibs then he was playing on a torn meniscus. I think he is a good candidate for a reclaim project.

Well, he’s 6’2” with a 6’3” wingspan so he fits the guard type Koby seems to like. However, probably wait to see who else gets waived. If we have an open roster spot he'd be a great guy to snatch up. Clearly a talent who's had some rough breaks and injuries.

He can't shoot. Can't really add another backcourt player who can't shoot since we already got Rondo, LeVert, Okoro playing major minutes.

I just remember watching him play with Dallas and thinking he was really good. No idea what he is now.Correct. I like him as a reclamation project for somebody else. He just doesn't fit here. Brandon Goodwin gives you most of what you would want from him with more willingness to shoot

How is Dennis Smith, Jr., who is out for several weeks with his own injury, going to bridge any gaps? If he can't play in the same timespan Rondo is out, he can't bridge. How about now? Why not bring in a Dennis Smith Jr. or someone similar to at least bridge the gap until Rondo can come back? As long as it's anyone but Pangos, hopefully he's somewhere on the Russian front.
