The Chubb-Hub Yardage Delivery Service

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yeah would it be cheaper to extend him NOW?? Let’s lock up Chubb ASAP.

Lol, I remember after the first preseason game last year saying, "this guy has no wiggle" or something similar. So happy I'm an idiot.

He became one of my favorites when the guy at the airport had no idea who the hell he was and Chubb didn’t seem to give a shit that someone didn’t know him. I’d bet that even after the achieves stardom that doesn’t change about him.

Special talent yada yada but I wish more guys would follow the example of speaking with your talent rather than the mouth. Baltimore talked shit all week and Chubb just embarrassed them all; and that’s that.

Too late.. already found a bunch. Thanks :)

Is he the best RB right now?

He has the best combo of size and speed. Also, in my opinion, much better value than Saquon. If you think back he reminds me of a young Jamal Lewis. I wont put him in Bo Jackson category but it could be close. Sanders and smith had more wiggle and were smaller backs not in the category as power backs.

You're gonna need to go back a bit to find a power back with that size and speed and can break the tackles he does.

Also on the run it was a green bay toss sweep. Create a seal here and a seal here and run the ball in the alley. Exactly as Vince Lombardi would teach it

No, but he’s definitely one of the best. Christian McCaffery, Saquan Barkley, and Alvin Kamara are all better. Then you have guys like Zeke and Dalvin Cook that people would take ahead of Chubb.

Overall - and weirdly considering how RBs have declined in value - the NFL actually has a really nice crop of active RBs. Chubb is outstanding and the best RB the new Browns have had, but I think he’s a bit away from being the best.

The one thing that you could argue separates Chubb from most of those guys (minus Zeke and Saquon) is his patience as a runner, which is typically one of the biggest adjustments one needs to make from college to the pros. He has a natural ability to wait for the hole and when he finds it, you better be ready to wrap him up in the open field because his straight line speed is elite.

Night and day difference from our last great hope at RB. Richardson was excellent at running himself right into the line of scrimmage.

We have 3 years of Chubb at good value if we want (2 more year on rookie deal, plus we can put a high tender to keep him for 1 more). After 3 years, he might not be the same back. And given what our cap could be then, he might not be worth extending.

I know that sounds like blasphemy with how well he ran yesterday, but things change quickly for NFL Rbs

Agreed, but McCaffery, Kamara, and Saquan are also much better in the pass game. It just makes them more valuable than Chubb, especially because all four are around the same level as runners, even if Chubb is slightly better (something that’s up for debate).

It's kinda sad to see him get that much beating. It's insane how much punishment they get.

I think if we utilized him more in the passing game, he could be just as effective as some of those guys. That crazy TD catch from last year where he caught the ball off of a defender's back proved to me has the chops but for whatever reason, it's an afterthought in this offense.

They’ve started using him more in the passing game for sure. He had multiple nice catch & runs off screens yesterday.

Maybe we are splitting hairs here but what makes Chubb a potentially elite runner is his elusiveness. Most people make the wrong application of elusiveness and apply it only to guys who can juke, etc.......but Chubb is otherworldly at beating a defender 1/1......wether that is through speed, power, patience, whatever. He just brushes guys off 1 on 1. That Ravens game was an absolute clinic.....he ran over people, he ran through arm tackles, he ran by guys when he had a lane......if he stays healthy, his combination of speed and power is unrivaled IMO, just as a pure runner. I think you can argue other guys are more valuable because Chubb is only a 2.5 down back......but if I need 2 yards.....or I need to ice a game away and a run play needs to be called, I want Chubb taking that carry.

And when Hunt comes back, we just have an embarrassment of riches at RB.
