The Lithuanian Connection

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Well, we have been looking for our shooting guard of the future. :chuckles:

I hate how the draft is geared towards drafting people that will be ready in three to four years.

A good reason why the NBA is so watered down...

He may be a servicable player in three years, but we have roster spots to fill..

I cant complain though, atleast we did something in the draft.

Marty will probably start in the NBDL, and could turn into a real stud later on. We essentially got Marty for Jiri Welsh, which is great. I'd trade Jiri for a Cavalier Girl.

I'd really like to see Sarunas here. What I like most is he plays with FIRE! Intense like Bruce Lee (I only saw him whoop the USA in the Olympics) Imagine a competitor like that with LeBron, it'd be contagious and the fans would love it.

We'll see, free agency starts Friday, I have faith in Ferry!!!

yep........................ IN FERRY WE TRUST

never would've though in a million years................

IF THINGS GO BAD ? hopefully it will be like biggie said :

"IT WAS ALL A DREAM"

If Danny Ferry is serious about getting Z back, then I would suggest going hard after Saraunus.

The are close friends and Z would definatly want to stay in Cleveland to have this one in a life time opportinity to play with his best bud.

I know Antonio Daniels is more suited for defensive purposes, but don't we already have Eric Snow for that? Our offense stunk last season. We need offensive productivity from every possition, and I think Saraunus can do wonders being our scoring pg.

Martynas is said to be a good shooter, good passer and skilled offensive player. He's nothing like Diop. This guy has some skills. He does need a lot of work on his post up game and of course needs a lot more weight and strength. I never read anything about him having any attitude problems. He is supposedly a hard worker.

The real offseason does start tomorrow night at 12:01 AM. I think the Cavs already have their targets and will go after them immediately. With $28 million to spend they should have a good chance of getting many of them despite Cleveland never being a draw for FA's in the past. I have a feeling that Redd and Daniels might be 2 of the main targets. It seems the Cavs will make a run at a FA PG and Daniels has a background with both Brown and Ferry from San Antonio.

I do believe in Ferry as GM. I have much more confidence in him than Paxson even just in a press conference or interview where he comes off much more focused, strong minded and knowing exactly what he wants to do.

I believe, Marty won't make all the difference right now or in at least a couple of years. At a push he will begin to contribute in 4 or 5 years. I guess, he shouldn't be playing in NBDL. It's thought that Marty is gonna be back to Europe for a couple of years.

Yes, Anriuskevicius has some obvious advantages, but, in my opinion, probably the worst thing about him is his character. He's quite an arrogant person, he's been strongly convinced that he'd become a millionaire due to basketball since early days. Nevertheless, I hope the drafts shock (he expected to be somewhere among the top 10) will be a good reason why Marty should work even more harder.

You know, when Ilgauskas was 18 or 19, he was playing really outstandingly. Contrarily, Marty doesn't show something very special right now, but he has a chance to develop into a decent or even a top NBA center, if he drops all the illusions he has about NBA, becomes much stronger and matured physically and mentally.

And about Saras. According to Sarunas, he is talking to 5-6 NBA teams for a deal. Saras says that he goes to the USA soon to fight for a contract. Yes, Jasikevicius wants 10 or more mil/3years, assured playing time and a team that has some chances to get a title. I heard that Indiana, Boston, Pheonix, Cleveland were interested in Sarunas. If Saras gets what he wants, he's gonna be in NBA next season, otherwise, he'll be back in Europe.

And Saras has recenlty met Z in the UK. Saras said, they were watching tennis and dreaming about how would it be nice to play in one team.

I believe, that Cavs with LeBron, Z, Saras and Hughes/Redd would instatly become a championship team.

Actually, we'll see what happens in the near future :)

Nice post notangas, and welcome to RCF.

Saranas is high on my priority list. He is a winner. He knows how to win and he knows how to play. He will definatly be a MAJOR upgrade to what Jeff McInnis gave us last season.

If we landed Saranus, and filled the roster up like you stated above, I see Eastern Conference finals. (hopefully)

Just incase anyone has questions about Marty's 'gator arms', don't look to deep into wingspan. He measured in at 6'11 inch wingspan, while being 7'1 w/o shoes. However, what matters is his standing reach, which was 9'4 inches. comparatively, channing frye, who is supposed to have the potential of a dominating shot blocker when he reaches his prime only has a 9'2 inch standing reach. Marty will have no problems with his horizontally inpaired reach when it comes to stuffing people.
