The Official Game of Thrones [A Song of Ice and Fire] Thread (includes spoilers)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
So spoiler-ish, though, I mean, it's George saying it straight up so it's the author spoiling his own shit.

how do we feel about the fact that the Targaryens had knowledge of the Others prior to the Conquest and that served as at least part of their reasoning for conquering and uniting the 7 kingdoms?

For me, it definitely makes me far more curious as to what happened in the Doom.

Also makes you wonder if it was the death of Aerys that caused them to begin their return.

Presumably something triggered their return, right?

Oh so the books will actually explore this unlike the show? Or what. Sure would be nice, George!

Wasn't this from Daenys's dragon dreams?

So I just learned that Danys the Dreamer apparently had a bunch her prophecies written down and the Citadel is allegedly in possession of some of these and Marwyn the Mage (my favorite mysterious side character) apparently has 3 of these pages.

Now I suspect THIS might be what the Faceless Man is after in Old Town.

It's been so long since the last book I'm gonna have to re read to remember all the interesting details I've forgotten over the years. Crazy to think I was just starting college when we last got some fresh ASOIAF.

I bought my German Shepherd (appropriately named Sandor) about two months after the last book came out.

That German Shepherd just turned eleven.

I actually wanna talk about this more because I didn't put 2 and 2 together.

The Faceless Men, allegedly and according to their own mythos that they tell, played a major role in the Doom of Valyria, if not outright causing it. As the story is told, the first faceless man was a Valyrian slave.

Daenys the Dreamer, who foresaw the Doom of Valyria, got the Targaryens out and thus they became the last of the Valyrians.

Now it makes a lot of sense to think they might be after the things she foresaw.

"3/4 of the way done."

Depressing. Just 4 more years to go then!!!

I thought there was an alpha copy floating around like 10 years ago. 3/4 done until he decides to rewrite a few more chapters
