I'm probably one of the very few in here who remember when there was NO SHOT CLOCK at all. Teams like North Carolina would play the 4 corner offense and literally hold the ball for 2, 3, 5, or 10 minutes at a time for ONE position. The defense had to take risks in order to break up the position, or the offense got off a great shot as the defense simply fell asleep. It was awful, awful stuff.
The Princeton offense was born at that time as well I believe.... with the owner being, hm, erm, Princeton of course. They perfected the running out the clock. Some games would be like 22-15 and such. Just awful. Boring.
The game tonight brought back all those old memories.
